If I had a choice I would give no stars, especially for the Food and Nutrition service. I’ve been on the phone with them every week since Sept 2022 today is 11/30about my case and no one has yet to give me a clear answer on what the hell is going on and why Ive yet to receive benefits that I was approved for. I wrote in detail my situation and they still find a way to mess up. If I didn’t have kids to feed I wouldn’t go near this zoo’ed out ghetto place. Very unprofessional call center. They definitely need a better trainer/supervisor she is as worse as the team. I was transferred to her, her baby was crying in the background she had an attitude towards me, over talking me, and not understanding the situation. This place is the worse.
Some workers are asking applicants to disclose private information. They asked an applicant how did she/he got into the United States, the applicant responded several times that she/he was a legal resident and give her/his resident card # and SS#, but this employee continued to ask the same question. THEY ARE NOT ICE OR AN IMMIGRATION AGENT, YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO DISCLOSE THIS TYPE OF INFO TO GET FOOD STAMPS. AS LONG AS YOU ARE A LEGAL RESIDENT OR US CITIZEN YOU ARE ENTITLED TO APPLY WITHOUT BEING HARASSED BECAUSE OF YOUR COUNTRY OF ORIGIN.
What are they getting paid for?!? My boyfriend has been waiting for being approved for a child subsidy loan for over a month now. They either don’t answer or say he’ll know by a certain date which they end up not telling or calling him. People are struggling as it is and going through a lot with inflation, and it’s like they truly don’t want to help people. Update: it’s been over two months and still no one calls back
This has been the worst experience with an organization EVER. Collins Smith is a manager here who I believe is intentionally stalling my progress as I attempt to apply for benefits in a new state and he should be held responsible for negligence. I applied to end my benefits on Dec 20 2022. I was told that first call that my accounts would close at the end of the year because systems were basically resetting. I waited for the new year and I was able to use my card after so I called again. Was hung up on several times by different employees. One woman told me that it would take 2 weeks, another a month. It’s a queue system which seems so antiquated. My case was simple…I just needed my accounts closed immediately and it’s been nearly two months and I still have not been able to complete my benefits in another state, costing me hundreds of dollars in food that I could have otherwise saved. I left NC because of its backwardness and it’s refusal to mature and evolve into The 21st century and it’s disgusting that a social services office would play around with someone’s well-being the way Collins Smith and his associates have done with me. A social worked Also reached out to me about the emailed letter that I never received and I was never able to get back in contact with her and received no call backs. The physical letter was sent out on the 8th of January and I still have not received it, a month later! Charles Bradley, you need to get a handle on the department. It’s not functioning well and I hate how clearly it stands as a representation of NC’s incompetence. I’m on the phone at this very moment…again! For the 20 or 30th time in 2 months…..!!!!
Courtney McLaughlin of the Department of Child Protective Services and Ms Janice and Ms Allison who work at the Department of Social Services on Billingsley Rd helping those seeking benefits, are all fantastic! Ms. McLaughlin ensures accuracy is obtained while also respecting the rights and opinions/sentiments of the parent. Ms. Janice and Ms. Allison take the time to be uplifting, helpful, accurate, and most of all, every one of these three women are truly caring. They all deserve awards or promotions.
Impossible to get in contact with anyone and you will sit on the phone for hours. Also, what is the purpose of using the gross pay to calculate need. I am required to pay social security, federal, and state income tax so net pay should be used. Why they are backwards on this issue is beyond reasoning. At least, I'm trying to work to avoid applying for benefits but when you make near minimum wage in 2023 sometimes it is near impossible but they do not care.
It’s Ned to be reformed totally! Infinitely no answer calling - absolutely dead connection. Website is not working how is expected, phone numbers give you only automatic voice of different people. Terrible service
Why is such a problem to speak to your caseworker you are given the same phone number over an over I'm 67 on a plann B medicate plann the plann doesn't help me the plan is for plan family uses the plann doesn't help me if I go to the doctor I'm paying $174 a month out of my ssi I need help today to be given a plann that helps me in my senior life these has really been a bad services
Awful. Regularly have to wait 3 or 4 hours on the phone only to get disconnected before I reach someone. They have been absolutely zero help in getting my medicaid application together.
We applied for food and nutrition services and to the date we still haven't had any response and we are not working at the moment! People who were sitting next to us applied to the same thing and were approved on the spot! This is totally unfair and not ok!
