Missing dress from the laundry and called several times. They couldn’t help, kept saying it’s another department but never helped me get to the other department. I reached out to the driver and never got responded.
This is a good branch, drop off and pick up were both easy and smooth, Junior working there is particularly great, I had 2 hefty coats and he helped me with them into the car. Coats came back fast, clean and well packed.
I was very disappointed that my discount was not applied, as that is the reason I trekked all the way to dependable cleaners it is not near my home. I received a 25% discount by email and specifically showed the email & asked to apply it when dropping off my clothes. The person said he’d applied the discount. When I picked up my clothes, I received no bill or final price, not even by email, and was told my card had been automatically charged without telling me how much they’ve charged!!. I specifically asked for the bill and the person acted like that was strange pretty sure it’s illegal to charge a card without a receipt, you should be providing it by default at least by email- I shouldn't have to ask! and then sure enough once he printed the bill I discovered the discount was not properly applied- it was 20% instead of 25% off. I pulled up the email to show it was supposed to be 25% off, and the person was not even apologetic and refused to fix the issue- he just shrugged his shoulders, didn’t care at all even though he was the one who made the mistake when I brought it in and said he can’t change the charge. It shouldn’t be so hard to correct a wrong charge you made- you made a mistake and you should fix it! Now I wasn’t about to argue or make a big deal about a small amount, but it’s the principle of the matter. Not only did he refuse to fix his mistake, but he didn’t even apologize or care- at least take responsibility. He said they’d apply it next time- there won’t be a next time! You’ve lost a customer. I don’t do business with companies who hide charges, don’t provide receipts, and then don’t fix the charge when mistakes are made.
Little pricey compared to others but they got the Job well done. They charged $20 to dry clean my expensive winter jacket but the end result is so good. Not even one stain that I can spot. Now it looks pretty new.
Have been going to Dependable Cleaners located 316 Newbury Street for more than 9 years. At one point in 2017 there a was a rough moment but that has been resolved!!! Dependable has done an OUTSTANDING job with my clothes!! Shirts, pants or repairs they have given me EXCELLENT service!! Cannot say their work will be everyone's choice but for my own experience I have no complaint! Nick is AWESOME as well as everyone else who has assisted me!!! Happy Holidays!
For the price point, after including coupons and discounts and to be able to dry clean 10+ items and have them returned and ready within 24 hours warrants “above average” rating for downtown Boston area. It’s great for a commuter coming into the city who picks them up on his/her own time without having to pay extra for services downtown that specialize in delivery. I cannot comment to the quality of tailoring or any other services beyond dry cleaning.
The service we got today was horrendous. We drove into the city to drop off my wife’s wedding dress to be cleaned. We gave them the dress, filled out an order and were told we would receive an email notification when the dress was done. A half hour later, when we were almost home, Leo the individual we were working with called us and told us he needed a card on file, my wife gave him her card information. After this he said he needed a signature. My wife had asked if she could give sign the form when we picked up the dress. Leo informed us he needed the signature that day. At this time my wife expressed frustration with the need to come back in and sign. We then turned around and drove the half hour back to the city, where we had to pay for parking once again. When we stepped back into the store we did not receive an apology from Leo for asking us to come back. When he handed us the form to sign it turned out to be a receipt. He had charged us without telling us how much the service would be or that he would be charging the “card on file”. During this whole conversation Leo was nothing but rude and unhelpful. We asked for the dress back and a refund for our purchase. Leo handed the dress back without a word of apology. He then stated that he needed the manager to authorize the refund and that she would be available tomorrow. At no point did Leo offer any form of apology, explanation, or attempt to make our experience better after we stated that we were unhappy. Everything we encountered today at Dependable Cleaners was unprofessional.
