Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Services

I went here 3 times, about 2 weeks the first two times and 2 months for the 3rd. Yeah it's loud and crazy sometimes, but out of all the psychiatric hospitals I'd gone to this one was where I felt the most comfortable. I really got to bond with some staff and make cool friends.

Was a resident at the rtf part in 2007 ..this place should've been shut down a long time ago Idk how its still standing

my experience was not that good. I cam home yesterday and im not that good. they dont give enough therapy. they also hit the kids. The place is also not clean and the staff dont are not nice. Kids cry and hit. Its not good. I made good friends there though. It kinda helped. i would choose somewhere else if i had the chance.

I don't know, this place seemed like a play ground for my son, sadly he just came home five hours ago and is already back to a few of the behaviors that he went in their for help. In my Opinion not enough therapy and too much play time. My son also came home screaming for his dad and I to give him more meds then he needs, bc he while in their has developed I get hyper,fidgeting, or out of control I need more pills to calm me down. Seems he has learned that the pills are a magic fix and forgot about self control. I feel now he thinks the pills will make him all better and they have taught him that. He actually cried bc he wanted to stay there bc it was so fun instead of coming home. He was completely behaved his entire two week stay there bc he was pretty much allowed To do whatever, as long as he attended a few counseling sessions. They made everything seem like play time to him. Now we are back to square one. RITA I would like to talk to you, seems my child and yours was in there around the same time. My son is only ten and I will never send him back there again.

so many memories of this place. Thinking back more good than bad ones . So many life experiences happened here for me. a Guys and Dolls musical( I was in the Marlon Brando role) . Some of the staff shared my interest in Star Wars and other such flights of fancy. When I graduated at age 18( I am now 33) the overflowing of friendship and care was strong . I can't really say bad things about the place because I was too young to fully understand everything going on. My own healing process notwithstanding. This place is still the setting in some of my vivid dreams. I will always have a place for it in my mind.
