Devereux Community Service

My son is 14 now and has been receiving treatment from here since he was 7. I have always adored the receptionists, who are all so nice and helpful. The most of my experience has been with Maggie and Cynthia, who are both so sweet. The prescribing doctor, Dr. "Z" is a very knowledgeable, perceptive & unique individual. I will admit on the 1st visit or 2, we weren't quite sure what to think of her bold style and blunt personality, but quickly realized she is just very experienced and very straightforward. We have had three different services throughout the years: outpatient, wrap-around and family based. All have been mostly positive experiences as it seems Devereux is pretty consistent with having experienced, professional staff who work in the best interest of the family. There was only 1 time that we were matched with a young female who did not fit the standards at all that we were used to. That experience is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. It was not a good experience at all and a whole other review. However that was one individual and we have dealt with so many individuals at Devereux from administration to therapists to the psychiatric whom have all been wonderful in guiding my son on the way to a better path. I am very thankful to have been working with Devereux all these years and recommend them to anyone struggling - if you are dealing with behavioral issues or suspect your child's mental health is off, you need to get them some help. Here's a great place to start.

The receptionist keeps getting mistakes. We had to move our schedule to other day because she booked us with wrong spot. We had to move my child's music lesson to other day because of her mistake but there was no such a thing like apology. Then another time, she never gave us a phone call to let us know that our appointment got cancelled due to the doctor's absent. They supposed to have three different phone numbers of myself and my spouse, but she never even attempted to call us to let us know they had to cancel my appointment on the day of! All she did was sending an email with a short sentence just couple hours before the appointment. Although I should be the primary contact, she decided to send an email (that contains only a sentence) to my spouse who usually does not check personal email at work. Why should he? When we showed up to the office, all she said was "I sent email couple hours ago." No apologize or anything. I had to take half day off for that appointment and we spent more than an hour to drive to the place. Great job and such a grace attitude, Ms
