Jessica was nothing but warm helpful kind and prompt from the first phone call all the way through the rental process! —— Update to 2 months later. The customer service at this location remains to be excellent. The security unfortunately leaves something to be desired, at least when it comes to the outdoor parking storage service. Someone through a brick through my van window and scrapped my electrical systems for copper. I guess I was a bit naive - storage facilities actually have no liability when it comes to keeping your stuff safe. That is what insurance is for. So what you are paying for is just space. Security cameras are potentially useful for identifying offenders, MAYBE, but even then, the odds of recovering stolen items is low and stripped wiring or shattered windows nil. I dunno. I guess the lesson is that wishful thinking offers no assurance. Cheap storage solutions guarantee your possessions won’t be completely trashed. That’s, if you read the terms and can confirm, what insurance is for.
I had a very good experience with Jessica and the Devon crew in Memphis. The in store process was smooth. Very friendly atmosphere. Looking forward to using their service again.

Well. I was promised all the conditions under the contract yet, Bob has been fulfilled. Don’t rent here. Don’t rent climate controlled, don’t rent security. I thought I had ran across a great facility when I could drive into the building and unload in a climate controlled facility. But no,…. The doors aren’t secure, there’s no climate controlled if the doors are open. Also, most importantly I feel, there’s not enough security. If doors are left open and the ceiling is just net then goes it’s it secure? Then the lady said I hand to do automatic withdrawal yet they didn’t take it out breccias I had chosen an option online to not do it. But she said I had to once in the office and said she changed it so bore in considered late! Super disappointed in this place! Will be considering other options at their expense!
I have been renting on a seasonal basis at the 2700 Poplar Avenue location in Memphis, TN. for at least a decade. Since Devon Self Storage took over a few years ago I have noticed a decline in property maintenance. The staff is always wonderful and the location ideal for me. The last 2 seasons which are summer/fall that I rented climate control there was no air but was charged for climate control. Last year about a month before I moved out the air conditioners were up and running again. This year I again rented climate control and now the door to that area has been broke for over a month. The air conditioners are running but the door leading into the climate control area is stuck 1/3 of the way down. The main security gate into the overall storage area is also broke and remains open all day until staff closes it in the evening so you cannot get in or out until the staff opens it. The drive thru area is one way however one door has not worked in at least 2 years so people have to back out and units have been hit and dented so some of the doors on units don't stay up all the way or are difficult to open. As a returning customer each year I was surprised this year when I was told that I was considered a new customer and Devon Storage requires all new customers to buy one of their locks for an additional $20.84 when I already had a lock that I bought from them. They would not refund the cost of the lock to me. Also the lease says...Occupant shall provide, at Occupant’s own expense, a lock that Occupant deems sufficient to secure the Space. I also reserved the unit with a move in date of June 1, 2023. Twice I received a call from them asking me to confirm if I would be taking the unit which I said yes. When I arrived on June 1, 2023, I was told that my unit had been rented because they can only hold a unit for so many days. Devon Storage had another one they could rent me and that I would only receive a half month free instead of the first month free because of supply and demand. There are signs in 2 places that say first month free. I understand things happen and may take awhile to get repaired. I was told there was no time-line on when the gates would be fixed. That the estimate is sent to upper management for review and approval. The real kicker is that last year I paid all 3 months in advance. I was out of my unit on September 30, 2022 and they charged me for October on October 3rd. I still have not gotten my money back. I was told the office staff cannot issue refunds/credits and that I would have to contact the District Manager. I tried to work with the company to no avail. The credit card company said I needed something from them that said they owed me the money since so much time had gone by. The General Manager at that time sent me an email saying here is the information you requested showing you are owed a refund of $364 along with a screen shot highlighting the amount along with the words refund. Corporate Devon Self Storage disputed the charge and said there was not enough evidence to prove I was owed a refund. I am still trying to get my money back. All this combined makes me want to look somewhere else for a unit with a company that's easy to work with and where I am valued as a customer. I also want to feel I am safe and my items secure. The reviews posted are mainly about the office staff which they are great. It would be nice if the employees were more empowered to run the property. I can tell they want to keep it nice but the only thing they have control over is renting units. I was encouraged to leave a review after booking my unit last year however I wanted to get in the unit and experience the facilities before leaving a review. I did not leave a review then because I go back every year and it seemed easier to keep quiet about some of my grievances. Please just be aware of these things when you go to rent a unit. I encourage you to look over the facilities and ask questions before signing on the dotted line.
Amazing service. Tiffany was an absolute gem. She helped me find the best unit for my needs. She was amazing! 100% would recommend. If you order it online, highly recommend you call the specific store before hand and making sure you are getting the best deal available! I called the Devon hub number instead of the local unit space, and chose one of the sale deals that wasn’t the best offer they had.
Very friendly staff nice clean well laid out facility very secure parking lot affordable terms would highly recommend
