The ladies of Diaspora Salon can truly transform your look. Yasmin is my hair guru and Leah is the other. They’re both amazing. I'm still new to the salon, but I can attest to how my hair has been transformed and I am witness to the other beautifully coiffured customers of this salon. My first visit was on a quiet Tuesday, last November. I opted for the Shaping service which is a cleansing, conditioning, blowdry, and shaping of the hair. Service was so quick and efficient that I couldn’t comprehend how Yasmin who is also the shop owner made such an improvement with what seemed like a few snips of her magic scissors. For my second visit, on Sunday just past, I chose the Curly Cut service which is a cleansing, conditioning, custom curly haircut with wash 'n go styling. My 4a-4c hair is curly while wet, but my wash ‘n go normally dries to a cottony ball of frizz. I hoped that Yasmin could show me how to achieve curls with a wash ‘n go. Yasmin delivered and I left the salon with soft, lovely, shiny curls! Because my hair naturally grows thick and heavy in the back, Yasmin cut the back shorter and shaped the sides into a style that flatters my facial features. She explained that as my hair grows out, I’ll achieve the balanced look I need. Yasmin talked with me about the hair products I’ve been using, which ones I should continuing using, and a couple of products that will work better for my fine hair. I had a great experience at Diaspora. I got the curl discovery cut. Leah was very patient, kind, knowledgeable and she answered all my questions. I really love that my appt began ON TIME! I love the vibes here as well. I will say it is a bit pricey but I think you’re getting what you are paying for and I am happy with my cut. Leah was my stylist and BABYYYYYYY! She got me right! My hair feels soft and moisturized, the curls are poppin', and the shape of my fro looks so good! Leah was extremely charismatic and the conversation was great! Definitely already have my next appointment booked!

Fabulous hair care experience. Leah was kind, knowledgeable and so helpful. The salon is nicely decorated and comfortable. All of my questions were answered and I never felt uncomfortable or out of place. Welcoming atmosphere. Best of all, my hair looked great. Curls were perfect and light. Will definitely be back!

HORRIBLE. I expressed that I didn’t like the cut and it didn’t match the consultation expectations that we discussed before we even started. She refused to give me a refund or make it right. I wouldn’t recommend going here. Haven’t been to a salon since! More than a lot of my hair got “trimmed” AND my hair was dry with the Walmart products she used uncle funky’s curl magic. Over $100 wasted for nothing!I do my hair better! Now I know and I won’t be back!!!! It doesn’t matter that it’s been than 3 years. To this day I’m affected very much by the negligence of my concerns and how my hair was left. I went to this salon to get a trim and a style that I know my hair at the time was the appropriate length for. Even before we started the process, the stylist agreed with me! No “details” have been forgotten b/c of the time that has passed, so please don’t gaslight a grown woman. Regardless you were not willing to refund me or MAKE IT RIGHT!

I am thrilled I visited Diaspora Salon! The salon is beautiful and comfortable and relaxing. Leah and Yasmin are pleasant and welcoming hostesses ;- Leah provided me the Curl Discovery and Cut services. She took the time to explain each step and described the products she used. I LOVE my curly hair-do! It is so easy to maintain. I have received compliments from - "your hair is gorgeous," to "your hair is like the ads in magazines!" So grateful to Leah!

Truly catered to natural hair care and education and the ladies are natural hair specialists. You'll never trust YouTube again lol. The salon will have you shook! I loved it and both stylists are phenomenal! The hair coloring they did on clients was insanely beautiful! Too shy to add a pic but trust, the website shows the outcome! A keeper! You must go!!! Worth every dime!

I am over 2 years transitioning but still have several inches of relaxed hair. I met with Leah and shared that I wasn't yet ready for the Big Chop. Leah was UNDERSTANDING and very knowledgeable on next steps for my hair!! I felt so comfortable with her on a first visit that I let her trim my hair. She did an EXCELLENT trim...and didn't take off too much. I absolutely luv my SHINEY transitioning hair. The atmosphere in the salon was relaxing and the smell was wonderful. I had an enjoyable day on my transitioning hair!!
