Discount Steel

I really like Discount Steel. I use them for my own hobby welding projects as well as for on the job projects. They have a very good selection of materials you can buy in short lengths in their walk in area, and they also have lots of remnants. I have certainly heard of people who say they are more expensive, though when I have compared prices with other industrial sellers I have not found this to be true often enough for me to consider getting quotes from other suppliers unless I plan to buy a lot of material. As a hobbiest, try to find an industrial supplier open on Saturday... You are not going to find crazy exotic alloys (though I have seen stocked Titanium), but they are well stocked with typical materials a fab shop or hobbiest would use. The people are always very friendly and helpful. They have something going on culturally that everyone is so cheerful - they get my support for that!

They were my source for channel steel in building stalls and doors in our horse barn. They were great in taking my designs and converting into the metal I needed.

The security guy/greeter/load conformation specialist is a hoot. Worth the visit. Good prices, helpful service, organized, lots of misc. pieces, clean store, lots to pick from. Not as eclectic as a trip to Bauer Brothers down the street but if you need steel it is the most convenient.

Super great place! Maybe a little higher price but well worth the extra money. This place is consistently changing to serve you better and they do a great job . Love this place
