Ordered delivery from Uber eats and was severely disappointed. The flavor was not there and the portions were not worth the price. The nachos pictured were 11$ for 6 chips And what seems to be microwaved shredded bagged mexican cheese. I understand the price may be increased from Uber but I wouldn't order them for any price. Would not eat here or order from them again.
I discovered this little place years ago and I've never been disappointed. I can't believe I hadn't already left a review. Margaritas are great. I've tried maybe 6-7 entrees here and they all were great. The customer service has always been great too. Just thinking about the amazing food here as I type this makes me want to take the trip from MD to VA to get dinner. It's always worth that drive. Bravo Dos Amigos
Lunch time was perfect. Great service. Great food. Sat by the window to people watch. Prices are good for Alexandria. Food was very filling to get through the rest of the day.
We enjoyed this place. The tortilla soup is pretty good. Prices are high with no lunch specials. Good location. Staff is friendly. I would recommend this place.
Definitely a quality restaurant. Was craving some Mexican food and this is definitely a great spot. The pictures will show you the portions are significant. Taste was very Good but there’s been better out there. The third picture will show you some chips, salsa and guacamole. Ten dollars for the guacamole seems a bit much. The hot sauce on the bottom right of the third picture was what they gave me when I asked for the “spiciest homemade hot sauce” they had. Seemed to be a combination of habaneros, jalepenos and tomatillos. The first two pictures are the three item combination for about 18 dollars. The rice and beans portions was extravagant. The shrimp, fish, and beef in the respective tacos were great portions for tacos. The tacos with the homemade tomatillo green sauce and some guac on top dos definitely hit the spot. Fourth picture is the heuvos rancheros. Another huge portion. The fifth picture is the Birria tacos. Whatever that sauce was, was absolutely amazing. I would say the only reason why I didn’t give five stars was because we did go at prime time lunch and there was only One server. She definitely was working her tail off with about 7-8 tables but they should more evenly staffed. Sixth picture is the regular sized house margarita which was pretty strong for 10 dollars. Last picture is a grande mango margarita for 15. For the grande that price is definitely worth it. I’ve been to some places their regular only size margarita they have is 16-17 dollars. I would highly recommend this place but would definitely say based on my visit, unless you’re a HUGE guac fan, stay away from it.
I’m not sure how this restaurant received so many stars. We were seated without menus, we ordered before there was even water at the table. We ordered mojitos, don’t. It was just poorly flavored seltzer water. The “salsa” was just roughly chopped tomatoes and onion in watered down tomato juice. We also ordered queso, which just tasted like melted American cheese. For the entree, fajitas, hard to mess up right? Wrong. All of the food lacked any flavor other than onion. Don’t bother wasting your money or time.
Do not order take out from Dos Amigos! I ordered a large meal and they completely forgot a burrito. I called the restaurant right away and was told it would be taken off my bill. It was not. I called back and was told I needed to come in, bring my reciept, and an ID. I said that was not acceptable. I was told I had to speak to the manager. I said of course, put him on. "He doesn't get here until 6 pm." I pointed out it was 6:10. "Oh I meant he doesn't get here until 6:30." Oh right. Stay away! We will never go back.
Friday a superb experience at the Springfield location, skeptical that it would repeat today at 2 pm in Alexandria. To our great pleasure, I am able to say we are hard pressed to assign the term 'better' to one or the other. I ordered the same quesadillas. We again found perfect nachos, thin, crispy and warm with great salsa, each of us getting our own salsa cup different from Springfield and Springfield's Coke was brixed better than Alexandria's. Lunch arrived promptly and I was again presented with delicious, crisp, toasty tortillas enclosing a perfect blend of cheese, beef and seasoning. The portions were as generous as those down south. The guacamole, pico de gallo, lettuce and sour cream served ice cold as hoped for, and equally tasty. My friend ordered steak fajitas, a different choice from Springfield's lunch, and found well-seasoned and very tender beef in an excellent onion and green/red pepper filled sauce. The accompanying rice, beans, pico de gallo, lettuce and sour cream platter was not neglected as to quantity, flavor and temperature either. The tortillas were thin and perfectly steamed. The owners have succeeded at maintaining excellent kitchen and waitstaff service and high-quality ingredients at both restaurants. We highly recommend both Dos Amigos for quality, service and price.
Um who is running this place. Came at lunch, the door was locked upon arrival 45 mins after they should of been opened there was a kid who opened the door another guy with black eye sat us down gave us dirty menus with food all over them, then the same kid came over and I asked whos the bartender he stated me??? I then ask what kind of margaritas do you have he said ummmm a lot I dont know all of them??? I left because it seemed like the children didnt have a clue to what was going on. Thankfully called the Dos Amigos in Springfield to complain, glad I did Omar the manager was truly amazing and went to that location which is 15 minutes away, best decision ever, it was clean and amazing food and best experience...please go there
We have been enjoying Dos Amigos for a few years now! The tacos pastor are a favorite and they do delicious fajita and ribs too. I would be surprised if I didn't like something on their menu. Carryout is always accurate and on point :. Definitely recommend!
