I love going here for happy hour. They have a good happy hour. A good spirits selection plus beer. The wings are popular. The max and cheese had a little kick and I really enjoyed it. It's not quite a dive bar but not anything close to fancy.
Changing my review from my previous 5 star. Went in on a Friday night. Wasn’t even busy and took forever to even get recognized. Some Cowboy wanna be dude must have thought we’re not cool enough even though I have probably toured with all his favorite singers, just don’t wear the costume. Finally got a drink from a rude girl with glasses who seemed bothered that she had to move. She then made us the worst drinks we’ve collectively had and at the end of it for 3 of us it was almost 40$ for about the most mid drinks and pours in the city. They seem to advertise hard drinks on Instagram, but that’s a flat out lie. We went up the street and had a better time at Dots and Clinton St. Pub. Much better bars that actually have a capable staff
Western-themed bar with character. A good-for-everyone bar, in the classic Portland style of chill neighborhood bars. Nice enough for a date, but not gonna break the bank. Cocktail menu, but also plenty of cheap drinks. Nice-bar-food. Shuffleboard. Photo booth. Cozy fireplace. HH 2-6PM. Dig it.Service: 5/5
Pinball, darts, great jukebox selection. Creative cocktails. Only negative was an aggressively stinky phew! men's restroom; it wanted you to know it was there, odor creeping around corners. I not encountered that before...Service: 4/5
I like that dark lighting, the music, and the bartenders especially Charlie, he's awesome. Always so positive. If it's slammed, don't order difficult drinks. I'll keep coming back. Burger isn't great not gonna lie, but I don't go for the food. Thx DB
Decent selection of beers in the fridge and a relaxed environment. It is a nice chill stop on Division if you just want to grab a beer. If I lived in the area I would probably come here to work or study and sip on a cider.Service: 5/5
Wings were delicious. Lots of outside patio space.Food: 5/5
5 STARS FOR AUTHENTICALLY BEST NON-PRETENTIOUS PDX BAR So… this is one of my fav spots inside Double Barrel - it’s the chick’s bathroom. This is the ultimate Old West Saloon vibe… DB is on my regular rotation. DB is a super casual, neighborhood bar and doesn’t pretend to be anything else. Personally, I love the staff… manager, bartenders m & f, the kitchen ppl… it’s sorta old school…. You treat them well, they treat you well. No one is following ya around or fussing over you.!!! Order at the bar & then there are tables inside, lots of seating outside front and a great size back patio. Dog friendly. Pinball, Photo Booth, video lotto, some kind of long shuffle or air board type game. Drinks are great…. But let’s talk about their Burgers and Sidewinder Fries… delish!!! The kitchen is open late, too, like Bars USED be…!!! The bartenders & that Texan manager are all bright & perfectly jaded, which keeps the riff raff away. Check it out. It’s clean, cozy, dark ambient lighting, fireplace & they have some rotating music/DJ Definitely a LOCAL old school PORTLAND neighborhood vibe. * only demerit is they switched the music situation & now anyone can play anything that’s online…. I liked the Hank, Waylon, old R&R flavvah much better *
I went to double barrel recently, and there was a mistake me with my food. When I informed the person that took the order they yelled at me. Not only did I receive the wrong burger, but the one I did receive was raw. I don’t feel this is a safe place for people of color. The bartender was extremely friendly to everyone else, and I was not hostile in my approach.
They have a very nice, slightly peppery bacon and bleu burger here. I like that the burger is medium sized not huge, but think the onion rings could be better done and more generous. The location is close to my place, and it wasn't too loud like some restaurants are.Food: 4/5
