A really big corner diner. Last stop for food on my way to the airport. Walked from my bnb and ordered at the bar. They opened kind of late for breakfast 9am so I'm guessing lunch is more their thing? I got the breakfast sandwich and fruit to go. This is one of the better sandwiches I've had. Even with a runny egg, it stayed together, this croissant bun is working miracles. Salty, savory, sweet with a tiny kick, it's hitting all the marks. But @$15, it's a little pricey. I so wanted a bloody, but I had to say no. Friendly staff gave me a water instead while I waited.
Pictures of Mount Rainier can be seen when you enter the restaurant. I recommend trying the veggie omelette.Food: 5/5
So good! Dang tasty, cooked to perfection. Solid hollandaise. The Bloody Mary was amazing - so many fantastic pickles and bacon, even though mine was virgin $6.95. Definitely making this a repeat breakfast spot!
Good food and service. The menu is simple and straight to the point You can add on items.Food: 4/5
Everything was amazing! First time here, and I will definitely be back. Wait times for 2 people on a sunday was not bad, we waited less than 10 mins. The service was great! I got the Spanish omelet with the genie's potatoes and biscuits. The buttery biscuits with blackberry jam was my favorite Food: 5/5
Good food. Don’t know about the coffee because they don’t have decaf espresso. Come on. Waitress was nice but otherwise service was not friendly. Overdose being treated on the sidewalk and staff forced us to step around them and the medic instead of going through the exit which was clear.
Genies has always been a great diner to stop in for great food. Today I got the Little Fan scramble, it was delicious. The service was excellent and friendly. Top shelf coffee too! Parking: Only neighborhood parking that can be busy during peak times.
Genie's is our go-to breakfast stop in Portland. The food is phenomenal, my favorite is the avocado toast with a side of Genie's potatoes. We love the food so much that we brought our out of state family there on their one day in Portland because it never disappoints!
Been here 3 times and it’s always great food, big portions and quality service. Hard to find good biscuits in Portland even with Pine State’s overrated spot across the street I still choose Genies every time. I’m from the south and this is the closest I’ve found to a good homemade biscuit. With only a 3 minute wait on a Saturday afternoon this checks all the boxes for me. Pro-Tip: Try the breakfast sandwich on the croissant bread. Whew.
The Bloody Marys really were fantastic. Those reviews were why I selected Genies. But I was not prepared for that vegetable hash. Hands down the best hash I've had in a while which says a lot given hash outs one of my favorite things to order at a loved restaurant back home. We don't get to to Portland for breakfast often but I know my husband will love this food. The servers were fantastic too. All around great experience.
