Most of the ciders are so heavily flavored you can't tell they are cider. Not my thing, but they all tasted good. The taproom got a license to do flights but the size is much smaller than last time we visited. The size of the space is just too small for the popularity.
Let me tell you. Finding Downeast Cider in Wisconsin is NOT an easy feat, but somehow we have become fans of this delicious beverage and now we go out of our way to seek out this cider in the Midwest. So when we visited Boston the last week of September, we had to venture out to the taproom to fangirl where it all begins. The experience did not disappoint. Once we were confident we went to the right location it throws you off when you aimlessly wander into what appears to be an industrial district, we were greeted by energetic staff and sipped on our flights to nostalgic 2010's hits while watching aluminum cans get filled with our favorite cider. My only complaint was that there were no Downeast patches available that I could sew onto my denim jacket like a true millennial, but the sticker will definitely suffice.
Great touristy spot with like two dozen ciders on draft. They seat you on the warehouse floor and you're limited to one flight/person. That said, I will definitely be going back to try more of their ciders!
my cousin and i traveled to Downeast from CT yesterday and it was easily one of the best decisions we ever made. our server, who i believe is named Rose, made our travel worth it. she was so welcoming and attentive! the rest of the staff was also very on top of their game. i will definitely be driving 3 hours to go back again
From the outside I was a little skeptical on what I was walking into but the cider house was awesome. It was cool to see all the pallets of ciders and the huge stills. I would recommend the pomegranate and strawberry ciders
Waited in line for nearly an hour, but it was so worth it! Every cider we tried was delicious! My favorites were the mulled cider and deep winter which we bought a large growler of to take home.
Cool place! They did a good job with signage to help you know that you ARE in the right spot haha. One flight per person, which is plenty if you ask me, they were the biggest flights I've ever had. The bathroom is pretty interesting haha @amp_eats instagram and Facebook
It was an interesting experience to see the facility where downeast cider is made the mountains of cans was very impressive but the envoirement was underwhelming, the bartender was ambivalent towards us and the cider wasn't even cold. We were in the tap room in the afternoon on a hot summer day payed $16 each for our flights and left. The outdoor seating looked pretty cool but it didn't seem worth staying for
Great place to try their cool selection of ciders although their flight is the only thing you can consume on site. Highly recommend coming here to purchase growlers of their cider though!
Definitely stop by and try all the amazing cider flavors when you are in Boston. Peach is my favorite!
