Dr. Tavel Family Eye Care

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Tavel for over 35 years. The staff is always very pleasant and friendly and the optometrist they have is very nice and answers all questions you may have. But the main reason this place is so great is because of a fabulous lady that had worked there for over 40 years-Cinda. Her first class approach to patient service and just her attitude is why this place is the best place to go. When she retires they should place a statue outside the building in her honor. She’s the greatest.

My mother and myself have both had eye exams at this location and everything seemed to go very well. They were helpful in finding a good fit for glasses for my mother. And they accept most insurances so it did not cost her very much money out of pocket, except for a few upgrades such as the lenses that turn dark when you walk into the sunlight. They said we could come back any time if we needed to be we examined, and were very professional and helpful during the entire process. The doctor told me my eyesight was still good enough that I did not need glasses. Even though my insurance would have paid for glasses it was nice that they did not try to force them on me just to make a sale. You can usually get it within a week for an appointment. They are located in a large strip mall in town near the theater.

The doctor is always nice, but is always running behind. He does great with the kids, so I dont mind waiting. One younger employee was openly criticizing Senda who has been there for years and who is always nice. The younger girl was reprimanding her for not working quickly enough. Whether it was warranted or not, I feel as though this conversation should not have occurred in front of all of the other employees and in front of me, my husband, and out children.
