THE ENTRANCE IS ON JAMESTOWN STREET NOT SHURS LANE!! Just an FYI. I waited about 8 minutes before being called back. The check-in process was pretty easy. The waiting area is very small. The sign on the door was pretty rude. I understand the message they’re trying to convey however, there was a better way to word it. I will say that the walls are extremely thin and there are students working with the actual doctors. Overall my visit was just ok. This is not my 1st time with my doctor, but my 1st time at this office. The jury is still out on if I will return or find a new primary.
Do not use this place as your primary. I can never see the same doctor. A lot of the doctors are brand new. They Google symptoms. You have to make appointments a month out. Long appointment times. I can’t even get the last doctor I saw on the phone to discuss an ongoing issue. Time to find a new primary.
Omg the worst had to change my doctor they rush u during an appointment and no one is listening to u as good quality care is important. Went to another clinic and they updated my medications that works much better and I am getting better care. Needs improvement.
Just got a bill from November 2021 …it’s currently October 2022. What a joke. A year later they bill me $170 for something. At this point it’s too late to even track down anything. Don’t go here. Go ANYWHERE else
A friend of mine highly recommended Dr. Alicia Tucker. She sounds like a great doctor, but I haven’t been able to see her because of the incredible incompetence of the office staff. The first time I scheduled an appointment a month away because of her full schedule, I received a confirmation text the day before and noticed that a different doctor was mentioned in the confirmation. I called the office and was informed that Dr. Tucker’s schedule had changed so they had switched me to a different doctor. I politely explained that I had specifically scheduled an appointment with Dr. Tucker and that the office staff should have called me to give me that update and ask if I’d like to see a different doctor or reschedule my appointment. At that point I requested another appointment that was another 3 weeks away. On that day, I arrived at the address in my confirmation text but couldn’t find any signage with the office name. I called several times but received a message that the office was closed although it clearly wasn’t since it was the time of my appointment. I walked around for 10 minutes then noticed a sign stating that the office was opposite their listed address and was actually in Jamestown St. Neither of the streets that are perpendicular to Shurs Lane are Jamestown so I tried calling several more times only to get the same message. I walked around for 10 more minutes and finally found the street it runs parallel to Shurs lane. I explained what had happened to the office staff and was flippantly told that the phone service doesn’t switch over until 8:30 this is a problem that should be remedied ASAP. I informed her that as a new patient, I should have been informed when I made my appointment that the office isn’t actually located where their listed address is and given specific instructions for how to find the office. She agreed but told me that I wouldn’t be able to see the doctor. I could see a resident or wait another 3.5 weeks for another appointment. 10 weeks is far too long for me to wait. I’ll be finding another doctor. My partner also scheduled an appointment with Dr. Tucker and was switched to a different doctor without notice and also could not find the office luckily their phones were on that day. There needs to be an immediate review of policies & procedures related to rescheduling & patient intake; staff should be given soft skills classes; and the phone service needs to be updated with actual opening times. I hope positive changes are implemented very soon because there are far too many negative reviews of this practice.
This was a nice facility to receive care from when I first started some years ago when Dr. Sternbach was practicing at this location. Although I still attend this location, I hate that they do not practice confidentiality here. They will discuss your medical information amongst each other in the hallway outside of your room door. They speak very loudly and the walls are not that thick. I hear other patients diagnosis and they hear mine. Mainly because they meet in the halls outside of the rooms to discuss your diagnosis or whatever your issue is. I guess no one complains and the professionals there do not care about protecting your private health information when they freely discuss you in their halls.
I’ve been with this practice for three years. While the staff and doctors seem like good caring individuals, the structure and organization of the practice makes getting any consist help very difficult. Calling for help requires contacting a scheduling office who relays your request. I’ve been suffering in bed for four days waiting for someone to return my call concerning blood tests results and a diagnosis. Also they are always closed on weekends, so don’t expect any help on a weekend. EDIT: I followed up as they suggested below, but never got any response.
Joke of a provider. New doctor every time. If you want to feel like a number without anyone taking the time to understand your needs, go here…For everyone else best of luck finding a place that cares
I submitted a detailed version of this complaint on the "Share Your Experience" link that is suggested in response to several negative reviews here, but never got a response back. Their ineffective communication practices result in missed / cancelled appointments just one example: instead of a call, I received a letter telling me that my appointment had been canceled for "unforeseen circumstances." When scheduling a subsequent appointment, the person asked me, "Now, are you going to keep this appointment?" in a condescending tone. I had my Nexplanon implant replaced there. Scheduling this took forever. When my appointment finally arrived, I was not informed that the person inserting it was doing it for the very first time, being talked through the process by another doctor. I was never asked, "is it okay if that a resident who has never performed this procedure before do it on your arm for the first time today?" It was a painful and prolonged experience that is supposed to be simple and relatively painless. The implant was placed incredibly close to the surface, presses against my skin and occasionally becomes inflamed and irritated months after. I asked a doctor at a subsequent appointment to look at it and she said that the manufacturer tells them to put it close to the skin and dismissed my concerns. Based on the advice of doctors outside of this practice, I plan on having it removed 2.5 years early. Every time I dealt with this practice I came away feeling crazy, judged and powerless. Again, I submitted a detailed complaint of these and other issues months ago and have yet to be contacted.
Good not be more dis-satisfied with the level of care. While it was not made clear to me this was a training location for new residents when I started coming here, it should be required that a more seasoned doctor is present during all appointments. I have never had an issue with this place until recently, however the resident I have seen good not care less about my health. She tells me to take a certain vitamin but not the dosage nor that Drexel would follow up w me to recheck my blood levels? TF? Anyone have a lead on an actually primary care doctor in this area?!?
