DrumConnection is your source for all things percussion. We have lessons for all skills levels as well as djembes, dununs drums, & full kit hardware.

Story

DrumConnection takes the deeply rooted, genetic connection humans have with music and combines it with the time-honored traditions of drumming and dance. Our main focus is on African drumming, and we’ve formed a school for those at all skill and experience levels. Beginners are our favorites because we know how to move them along quickly so that, in a short time, they don’t feel like beginners anymore. Our universal love also stems from the concept that drums are thought to be one of the oldest forms of music and are a celebration of human history. Our lead instructor, Alan, has been teaching percussion for over 55 years and visits Africa every year to take students on unforgettable, transformational journies where they’re immersed in the culture of Guinea and the art of Malinké music. If you’ve ever been interested in drumming or want to connect with your inner rhythm, we’d love nothing more than to have you as our student in a great drumming class or circle.

Mission

Since 1990, we have been teaching the music of the djembe and dunun, conga and doumbek and more in Boston and all of New England. Our teachers are caring instructors who guide you in fulfilling your dreams and passions on the drums. It's a way of life for all ages to share!
