It has a nice atmosphere. The food is good, especially if you are still acclimating your tastes to hot chili. The red & green chili seem to be on the milder side here. I prefer chili with a bite. FYI, they print on their menus no splitting checks & no menu substitutions.
First time eating here, but I've been traveling to Albuquerque for decades. Very simple decor, but the food was delicious. Great salsa with enough spiciness. I ordered the chile relleno plate with red and green chile on top. Personally I thought the green was much better. Good beer selection, so I paired my rellenos with a couple of cold Carta Blanca beers. Perfect meal. Our server, Esme, was great! Highly recommended, and I will be back next time I'm in Albuquerque Parking: Plenty of convenient free parking in their lot
Durban’s is a haven for comforting New Mexican food that brings the heat! They are straight to the point with delicious food and great service. They have the best chips & salsa and tamales I’ve ever had to date and highly recommend both. Their sopapillas are delicious as well and the accompanying sauces and chopped green chiles really complete the meal.
Our server was quick and attentive. The food amazing. No matter how full make sure you order some sopapillas.Food: 5/5
I was recommend to Durans by a few friends who live locally- and it exceeded expectations! The breakfast burrito was fantastic- large but not heavy! I chose the steamed potatoes and definitely felt that I made the right choice. Durans offers options of either red or green Chile gotta get green when in New Mexico in my opinion. Highly recommend durans for for some very tasty Mexican food.
11/2/21: DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! Drugs to the right, food to the left! What a wonderful locally-owned business. Get your prescription filled while eating here. Buy your gifts here while getting your prescription filled while eating here. Oh my..can get expensive I was so pleasantly surprised and will absolutely return. This was my first time at Durans and I LOVED it. I thought it was going to be a small, stuffy old place and my mouth dropped after I parked my vehicle in a crowded parking lot. I actually thought that it was overflow parking from other businesses. NOPE, it was Duran Pharmacy customers. Duran's is an old school pharmacy and restaurant. If you're from Burque go check this place out. From NM? Go check this place out. Tourist? Go check this place out! FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS seasoned staff working in the store and restaurant. Nastasha Z was our ATTENTIVE server. FAST food from the kitchen; ordered delicious NEW MEXICAN meal and that hot plate was out on the table within 5 mins. It was crowded during my shopping and lunch experiences. I also found out that Duran Central Pharmacy gives back to other "Mom and Pop" places in W. Downtown ABQ. Enjoy yourself...
Food was ok green chili tasted sour/ red chilli was good. Service was ok friendly but forgot about us.
The service was terrible. The girls get bother when you ask questions about their food. I ordered the 3 taco plate. I asked for a description on the tacos, was told that the taco are on hand made tortillas. Instead, I got three tacos Taco Bell hard shell style. I asked the girl to provide me with utensils, and napkins. When I got back to my place and open my order I had no utensils and no napkins just the box with three Sorry tacos and beans mix with yellow cheese. I will never stop there to buy food again. Very bad experience and very bad foods.
Terrible waitress! Worst service I have ever had. I sat in a booth and was eating alone. She waited on all of her tables before mine, I was the first customer in the restaurant. When she finally came over, I complained and she said she was sorry that I felt that way. She took my order and that was the last time she came to my table. She had someone else deliver my food, never asked If my food was ok and never offered me a refill on my drink. Yet, she made it obvious to me that she did "serve" her other tables and was purposely ignoring me. The next time she approached my table, was dropping off my check as she was walking away. She never stopped. The next time she did stop to ask how everything was as I was getting ready to leave Wanting a tip?. I asked her why she was asking now when she had ignored me the entire time I was there. She said she was "giving me space". I told her that if she didn't want to wait on me, she should have asked the other waitress to take my table. She was so rude! I called the manager and he apologized, but also got his back up when I said that I judge restaurants by how they treat customers who dine alone. That irritated him and he said they serve many customers who eat alone. I did not find that the case today. If I eat alone, I always tip 40%. Other employees apologized to me for her behavior. The owner responded that I didn't wait to be seated. The person who unlocked the door. Told us to choose where we wanted to sit. After that she took menus to all of her tables. Your 2 seat tables are against the window blocks and it gets very hot sitting there.
Best red Chile and best beef enchiladas I’ve ever had as a native New Mexican. Their red Chile has so much flavor with the perfect amount of bite!
