The experience we had with E P Mahar & Son Funeral Home was very professional, sensitive and family focused throughout. The unexpected loss of our daughter was both tragic and untimely. In addition She left a young child behind who was our primary concern. Dazed and grief stricken John helped us plan the private, child centered service we desired. John,Bill and Larry made an absolutely horrible time in our lives easier. We are grateful to everyone at Mahar's for their compassionate and professional service.

Grateful for our experience specifically with dealing with John. Our family member had been taken to a different funeral home and after talking to what seemed like an indifferent here's your price no extra help attitude we decided to have him moved to Mahar funeral home in Bennington. John was a blessing! He went Waaaay above and beyond to help us manage this long distance cremation. He worked with us thru a difficult tense family situation, worked with us on the price, he was very patient and soft spoken and caring thru this whole experience. Our situation took a while to resolve, he was never pushy, never pushed us for money, he was always, "it will workout, it will be fine...." He was exactly the right person, to handle this delicate situation with dignity and respect to all involved, especially our deceased. The Mahar team (notably John) was a Blessing to us! Yes it is worth having your beloved transferred if that is what you are contemplating, we are glad we did.

John marhars is gentleman I have delt with more then once and I can say he's an angel..he makes dealing with loss of loved ones less stressful..no matter how big or small hes on top of it n gets his job done..I personally would like to say thank you
