Beautiful day to spend outside for brunch! The weather was perfect and the service was very kind as well. This was my first time at this location and the food was just as good as in Ellicott City! The service was a little slow but it was a busy Saturday morning. I ordered the Southwest Sunrise with a croissant and it was delicious. Parking was a little difficult because of all of the traffic from the festival and the farmer’s market but it wasn’t too bad of a walk with nice weather.
Note: This review is being upgraded from three stars to four based on my 06/11/19 experience. Nice to know they've improved. Updated Review: Eggspectation is in a great downtown Silver Spring location. When I walked in the door, I was greeted by a nice young man who seated me inside, and was CL when I changed my mind and asked to be seated outside. His response, "Sure, no problem." He gets a for being flexible and kind. I sat down at a table outside. Just a little note, if you don't like to get wet, don't sit at a table near the water fountain. It was windy and I kept getting sprayed but I secretly enjoyed it . My waiter came and was, unfortunately, not as friendly as the host. In fact, he seemed bothered by the fact that he had to actually deal with another human. lost I ordered a scrambled egg breakfast with orange juice, and it was very good. The young lady who delivered my food was a bright ray of sunshine, offering me a big smile and asking if she could bring me anything else. I asked for salt, pepper and jam, which she delivered quickly and with a big smile. ca-ching ca-ching ! In the end, I would say I had a good experience, but I wish I could have given the tip to the host and the young lady that delivered my food. I tipped over 20% thinking maybe my waiter was just having a bad day, but honestly I wanted to give him a dollar. I would recommend giving Eggspectation a try.
Nice place, situated in downtown silver spring. Parking is free on weekends. Went on a Sunday morning around 10:30 am. Very busy, but the wait time wasn't bad, 30 minutes. From the hostess and waiter, everyone was friendly. Food came out quick. Signature mimosa was really good. And ordered the Southwest. The potatoes are really good. Daughter asked for the chocolate chip pancakes, nice fluffy pancakes ,very tasty. Didn't give it a full 5 star because it was hot in there. Seemed like the AC was off and everyone was feeling the heat. Otherwise a great experience and recommended.
I love this place! The food is very tasty and I’m a picky one when it comes to eat out. I have been there already 3 times within 4 weeks because I am satisfied with the services every time I go there so far. It’s very convenient and easy to find. There are 3 parking nearby at walk distance and it’s close to public transportation; just a few blocks away from the metro. If you love pasta, they have a great selection! I’d just wish there was more choices on the happy hours. The kitchen is open so you see everything that is happening over there, good for those who are picky with their food. Place and restroom is clean. They have a dinner and bar seating areas.
1st time going to Eggspectation and it didn’t disappoint. Excellent service and the food was delicious. I tried the Eggspectation omelet and was really good, staff was very friendly and on top of everything. I didn’t leave hungry, would totally recommend it
We were visiting our friends in Silver Spring and they picked Eggspectation for brunch. We were a party of 7 and I guess they don't have a lot of tables that can accommodate big groups, so we had to wait for about 20-25 mins before actually getting a table. The menu options looked really enticing causing a dilemma about choosing the dish. I opted for the Boca Raton Benedict and we had a couple of orders for the table so we get to try more options. Most of the food was good nothing exceptional or outstanding, however, I must admit that their pancakes were delicious. Very fluffy and soft!! We hogged on those despite finishing a dish each and being full and were stuffed by the end of it. #GreedyFoodie. They did mess up on our order by having meat in our pasta when we specifically asked for vegetarian. The service was quick and our waiter was really nice! Tip: Do try their pancakes. The regular coffee is very strong to the point of being bitter so its not for all souls!!
My waiter is a guy named Harry - what an amazing waiter and awesome experience at Eggspectation in Silver Spring, MD. This is my new favorite restaurant! Why? Well, let me break it down for you: 1. My waiter was prompt and friendly, he knew every aspect of the menu, and I am absolutely thrilled with what I selected at his suggestion. The pictures show the PERFECT Brie Crostini and the Ahi Tuna Nachos. Compliments to the Chef as well. 2. I am the pickiest eater on the planet, and Harry was so patient and accommodating to my picky requests, including coffee in a to-go cup instead of the coffee mug. He kept my cup of joe topped off and he was able to balance my and several other tables at the same time - this guy is a pro! 3. The restaurant itself was very well kept, the atmosphere was nice and cozy, and the bar area I sat right across from it wasn't rowdy or crazy, everyone was super chill. The lighting was perfect for a rainy, cold night in Silver Spring and I spent almost 3 hours just soaking in the good vibes and consuming some of the best food I've had in years! 4. By the way, always get anything that has candied pecans - they are to die for! 5. But out of all the great things that exceeded my EGGSPECTATION, I must say that my waiter's attention to detail, ability to engage, remain warm and friendly, and the delectable food he served - that is what made me a true believer! I will be coming back with my daughter - she is going to love this place! Shout out to the Manager, Carlos! He's friggin awesome, too! He came to my table and we had a great chat as I finished up my nachos! #EGGSPECTATION
I loved this place! It's a chain but a good chain with alot of good brunch foods and drinks. There is a whole pave of coffees you can pick from and another for juices and yet another for different egg dishes, of course! The service was very friendly and attentive and they let me and my girlfriend stay bit longer so we could chat away. It does get bussy so either get reservations or come earlier in the day.
The food was absolutely delicious here! The restaurant had a kind of upscale cafe kind of vibe to it. The lobster mac had a generous portion of lobster. The caesar salad had a good amount of cheese in it. Our server was a bit slow with the check but the overall experience was wonderful! We will definitely be back.
I love this place especially in the warmer months! The area is so nice!! This place has yummy french toast, and their potatoes are so good. I haven't had anything that I don't like yet. the plate furthest away was New Orleans style eggs Benedict over polenta. soooooo yummy
