Excellent place to get some German fare. Decent selection, but not overwhelming. The meats and sauces are prepared in-house. The spicy brat was delicious, and the rueben was probably the best I’ve ever had. The potato salad was good as well as the beer cheese pretzel. Check this place out if you get a chance.
This food is amazing. I really couldn’t express how delicious everything was and how the staff are super helpful. They have a large drink menu also. If you are undecided about where to eat and looking through what all is available this should be your destination. You will not regret it.
Eiderdown is an amazing restaurant. Good food even if it's more German mix. Good beers and cocktails. The staff are nice. Definitely a must go to for those interested in trying something a bit different.
Lovely spot in Germantown. We went for lunch, so the menu was limited, however the food items were delicious. There were several good craft beers on offer in this small space with a really nice vibe.
First time, we have heard so much about Eiderdown we just had to come. The interior reminded us a lot of Four Peg, in terms of bar, bar location, layout and blackboard location. The menu is very german, no surprise. Service is very friendly and the setting very comfortable. At the table we had a Cheesy Spaetzle, Roasted Chicken, a Whim, a Garden Spaetzle, Schnitzel, and a Burger. Everyone agreed they would all come back and order the same thing again. Nice job, well done. Decent dessert menu but after beer and dinner, tough to have any room for more.
Great German style pub food with great drink selections and average prices for the area, yes it was honestly some of the best I've had in the Germantown area, HIGHLY RECOMMEND! If you have the pleasure of having Rach as your server, count yourself lucky :
Great food, great beers, and a cozy atmosphere. It might not be best suited to large groups, but our table of seven had great service, and the food was amazing. My chicken schnitzel with a fried egg, butter spätzel, and potato soup was incredible, and everyone else in our party was very pleased as well. We'll definitely come back here any time we're in town
Really enjoyed dinner here this past Saturday. We came around 7pm and there was no wait for two. We had the spaetzel and kraut balls as an appetizer, and the special chili dog and the vegan stuffed cabbage for our mains. The spaetzel balls were out of this world fantastic. Our mains were both really good but came out a little on the cold side; not bad enough to detract a star though! I was super impressed with how authentic the stuffed cabbage tasted too, just like my mom's growing up Polish recipe, not German, but apparently all the same. And the bread pudding dessert was so delicious, shout out to our waitress for insisting we try it! This is definitely a gem of a place, not to be missed during your time in Louisville! There were several other things I wanted to try too so plenty of choices for return visits!
Super relaxed vibe. Our waiter was great and treated us like his friends which I honestly preferred. Pretzel bun was a good choice for my burger. Also ask about the grapefruit beer they have! Its sweet and mixed with grapefruit soda but a really interesting flavor.
After an event at a nearby bar, some friends and I read reviews about EiDERDOWN and our interested peaked. I ordered the garden spatzel, which was incredible! The dumplings and mushrooms were perfectly cooked and mouth-wateringly buttery. The winter squash, goat cheese and parsnip cream sauce were the perfect addition to this decadent meal and added a refreshingly vibrant flavor. If anything, it was a tad on the dry side and could have used a tad more of the parsnip sauce, but all in all, it was phenomenal. My friend, who got the cheesy spatzel, also fell in love. She couldn't seem to put her fork down until the rich creaminess finally caught up to her and she couldn't possibly eat another bite. No worries, the leftovers were taken home. Wonderful experience in an organic-meets-industrial restaurant style! If you're in the area, make it a must to eat here!
