Place was great, it’s outdoor. Food came out quick and the service was good. I heard that it gets really pack during the night. I went on a Sunday around 2pm and it was very chill. Food was very tasty and well presented. Definitely a good option when i visit DC again.

Really good spot! Came here with friends late on a Friday night and it was busy! We ordered chips & guac to share, which was yum. I ordered 1 Al Pastor taco, which I loved, although it was quite small I should’ve asked the size prior. I also shared the quesadilla with Al pastor with a friend - and it was incredibly delicious best bang for your buck. We also split the house margarita on the rocks, also good. I’d like to come back again to try more items but overall enjoyed for the price!
Fun happening space - we went on a Saturday and it was packed - they have an outdoor hot courtyard with bar and an indoor area that’s cooled. Fish Tacos were good - great flavor, although the fish was a little dense and chewy. We’ve visited before and has a good experience - would recommend, especially if you are with friends or entertaining young guests from out of town.
Never actually reviewed a place, but just want to warn prospective customers. Tacos were fine yet overpriced, not much to taste and were frugal on beef portions. What was criminal however was the guacamole, which included the pit that took up probably 70% of the container. Pretty genius way to skimp on avocados, I’ll admit.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: Yes
Tacos and drinks were so good.. i will definitely come back
Came here for brunch. It was pretty quiet and the patio was really nice. I got the carnitas breakfast burrito and it was delicious but super heavy with tons of pork and eggs and cheese. The chips and salsa were also good too. I liked the laid back atmosphere and the staff was very friendly.
Great spot for tacos and margaritas before the 9:30 Club. Outdoor seating space was great. Drinks were served cold and quick despite the place being full of people. Tacos were yum. Al pastor, shrimp and fish - all great!
This place is a nice outing in DC! If you do visit, don’t get their house margarita, it tastes like toilet water. Their mango margarita is really good. They’re SUPER strict about seating. Example: if you sit inside and a table outside becomes available, you can’t move to that table. Even if there’s no line outside, no wait, you can’t move; you must sit at the table you first sat in. Sure, I guess that’s normal but they also make you sit at a table that you don’t want to sit at and when a table you do want to sit at becomes available you still can’t sit there? No thanks! They do play decent music. Their staff is somewhat friendly, I think we caught one of them on a day because he was very feisty for no reason.
The absolute best tamales I have ever had. ¡Grandes y sabrosos! They only have chicken and veggie, but I'm not longer eating red meat. El Rey is a restaurant styled like an open-air cantina, except there is a roof. Bar has great margaritas, too. Good happy hour vibes!Food: 5/5
