Went with a friend, we were looking for close by Mexican restaurants. The waitress was super helpful and gracious. We got our food in good time AND the best part was the food was just amazing. Like, I couldn’t stop saying how good it was with each bite. Definitely recommended!! I’ve included a closeup picture of their tortilla chips because they were freshly made, warm, and golden/crispy and just perfect.
This is a great place! The inside is decorated in a very welcoming way, I love the chandeliers and napkin holders. The server/owner was extremely friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home. The meal was delicious, I had the mole and homemade tortillas. This is a really nice family owned place, worth a visit!Food: 5/5
What a giant disappointment! I ordered the mole rojo and although the mole is delicious, it was served over a small sad, drumstick, rice and "tamales de ceniza" I didn't know what they were. I thought they were regular tamales, but they're not. They can only be described as weird pieces of masa. There is NO filling. And they were old and stale. They were hard and disgusting. It was inedible. I also ordered a weird triangle thing with cheese and it was also cold and hard. I tried calling the restaurant, to get a refund, but the phone is disconnected. I have never been hungry, after eating Mexican food, in my life and this is a first. I definitely DON'T recommend this place. There are far better Mexican food places, in the neighborhood, and for a better price. Never again.
This place is totally authentic. Amazing mole and hand made tortillas. The server was so friendly and we talked a lot about the origins of the dishes. I thing he’s the son of the owner. BYOB. Nice atmosphere. Mexican music playing.
I read a review that this place was the real deal for Mexican food. Very authentic. And yes it was. And very good. A bit causal but very enjoyableFood: 5/5
Great food! The mole is incredible. I don’t live in Chicago but I can’t wait to come back to El Sabor Poblano.
Amazing food!!! It's family owned and the mole is one of the best things on the menu. Also the pambazos are amazing! I had the champurrado which was good as well. Definitely will be coming back.
I was there waiting for more than 30 minutes and I saw the person inside talking on the phone did not open the Business at the time they have posted on their door. This is the third time I’ve gone and this is bad customer service.
Delicious pambazo, barbacoa, picadita, and more in a cute and homey atmosphere.
From all the taco places on Clark this is my favorite! From the tacos to the picas it’s everything is delish!
