We have been tenants for 2.5 years at Elevation. Other than Donna, Rocky, Caroline, and Cleo who are very kind and helpful the remainder of staff are horrible. Especially Candance the general manager of elevation, Burton, and 202, her own staff went out of their way to warn us of her during our months of complaining about the heat discrepancy between the 2 bedrooms. As I slept with layers of clothing, winter socks, comforter and 2 blankets with our heat set to 73 my roommate was forced to sleep with minimal clothing/ layers as her room was a sauna. Despite my room reading 62/64 with the heat gun which is violating housing code the maintenance team and specifically Candace only offered for our vents to be cleaned claiming “there are no issues with your HVAC”… 8 months later and our entire HVAC unit gave out leaving us with no heat for 3 days , affirming there were indeed issues with our HVAC. I cannot stress enough how horrible of an experience it has been the few times we have interacted with the general manager Candance. It seems her ideology is using an iron fist and rudeness to shut people down which is incredibly confusing given we are paying customers voicing reasonable concerns and requests. More recently, we had a reasonable accommodation request made June 7th and after emailing numerous times checking in were not offered any update or response clearly in violation of the fair housing act. When I went in person to ask for an update I was informed there’s been lots of turn around and people leaving the office as an explanation for our email being ignored for 3 weeks. This employee even went as far as to say “if they won’t complete the reasonable accommodation request for the guy on the 4th floor in a wheelchair I wouldn’t keep your hopes up” but she informed us to email everything again. We complied and once again emailed over the doctors note and medical/ reasonable accommodation request this time ensuring it was directly sent to the manager Candance Jennings , the general elevation email as well as corporate manager Devon McNally and were once again never replied to has been over 1 week now. Along with these issues, I have also cut my foot in glass found in the pool, numerous cars have been stolen from the parking garage, parties in the common areas can often go past 11pm the closing time and police are called to the residence on a weekly basis. I would greatly recommend securing housing elsewhere as it is truly not worth the disrespect and negligence with which residents are treated with. I can’t even blame residents for not taking care of the property ie smoking in the halls or bringing glass to the pool as why would residents care about a space in which management clearly does not reciprocate care or respect?
Good afternoon, I wanted to highlight the more than exceptional service, communication and follow up from Sales and Marketing associate Sequoya Mercer. Throughout the move-in process and issues with-in my apartment she has always been accommodating, understanding and helpful through the process since being a tenant at Elevation. Elevation/Bozzuto are lucky to have such dedicated staff to ensure there residents are as comfortable as possible.
1 star to equal the 1 elevator that seems to be working at any one moment. We’ve been here about a year and a half, and in that time, I can count on one hand the times more than two of the four elevators have worked at any one time. As much as tenants pay for rent, I’m sure a top-rated company can be paid to come fix a down elevator quickly and effectively, but when an elevator goes down, it stays down for weeks. I now have to carve out an extra 3-5 minutes for my commute to account for the time spent waiting for an elevator, or walking 9 floors of stairs. I know, I know - champagne problems! But when paying over $3k a month, the LEAST I expect is working elevators, especially in a building this new. But, I suppose, we can’t expect much else from a corporate company. I’ll consider amending and adding stars as they consider adding elevators back into service.
Cleo is amazing at Elevation!!! I’ve lived here for 2+ years, and her addition to the elevation team a few months ago was a great one. She’s quick, friendly, and makes sure residents have everything they need. I appreciate all of her help with my apartment!!! Update - I recently moved out of Elevation mainly because of traffic and wanting to be out of the city, and I would like to say again that this building was definitely the best place I've lived. I didn't even realize how good some of the stuff was until I left! Maintenance comes so quickly and gets everything taken care of, they take really good care of your packages, and Donna at the front desk makes sure you have everything you need and is extremely efficient and caring. The traffic around here does suck and there is some crime, but it is literally Washington D.C. I always felt safe in and around the building.
Maintenance here is TOP NOTCH. I submitted a maintenance request for an HVAC issue and Cleo from the maintenance team was here within a few hours and worked on not only the HVAC issue but a few other small outstanding issues as well. The quality of service and hospitality from Cleo is absolutely top notch and shows a huge commitment to the residents. I’m so thankful for you, Cleo!!
Not sure how this place has such a high google rating. I strongly recommend reading the negative reviews and take those seriously. I lived here for almost 3 years with my roommate. The first year was great! No problems. After the first year was when everything started to go down hill. It started with the construction of 202. We asked management what was going into that building and they said it would be 4 floors and a few units per floor. I believe it is taller or the same height as Elevation. It has caused so much congestion and disruption. We had to replace our refrigerator and everything in the fridge had spoiled. Elevation did nothing to compensate us for our hundreds of dollars worth of groceries. the replacement fridge we had problems with multiple times after. The unit next to us was getting renovated or repainted and was not properly ventilated so we had horrible paint fumes engulfing the apartment. we had to sleep with the windows open and even that didn't help with the nauseating smell. I went down to the front desk multiple times and nothing was done. they just inspected it and said yep. thats pretty bad. and then left. The biggest most offensive issue we had with this building was the rent increase year to year. in the almost 3 years we lived there they raised our rent $600 yet absolutely no improvements or clear reasons to justify raising rent so unreasonably. Absolutely not worth it. If you're looking to live somewhere in NOMA i highly recommend looking somewhere else unless you can afford a rent increase of $200 each year but no improvements to the building. Ending on a positive note: Donna at the front desk is wonderful. She is caring and helpful! Erika who used to be night concierge was also so nice! and Philip in maintenance is great.
We have the best of the best Koya makes each and everyone feel at home. Her personality and shines as we engage with one another at events. A definite delight to have here. She listens to us and provides feedback and excellent customer service. KOYA YOU'RE THE BEST. GREAT JOB BOZZUTO!!!!!
I lived here for almost 3 years. At the beginning it was amazing, I couldn't have been happier. Towards the end it had become a horrible experience. My car was broken into and staff did nothing about it. No extra security measures despite the ongoing car break-ins/ thefts. The staff seemed unconcerned about residents safety concerns. Mind you parking is almost 200 dollars monthly. No security camera footage, no extra security. Nothing. No measures taken to ensure resident’s safety. The garage gate had been broken for MONTHS allowing anyone to park and access the garage. When asked the staff when will the garage be fixed their response was little to no idea of when. On top of all of this. My rent while staying here increased almost 1,000 dollars over the course of 2.5 years. To clarify my rent went from $1,500 in 2021 to a little over $2,300 monthly by the time I moved out in 2023.. So not only were they price gouging but amenities were not being updated multiple complaints to the concierge about equipment in the gym not working. The complex was filthy with the amount of animals on the premises the elevator cabs and elevator lobby floors always had dirt and tracking's from animals or spills. Safety was basically a non factor. Police were always called because of disturbances on the premises. Construction made traffic insufferable. If you are looking for a safe, peaceful, environment worth the bang for your buck. I would suggest you look elsewhere.
Although we moved out of Elevation in March it was still my favorite apartment we ever lived in. From the leasing office, to maintenance, to Ms. Donna, everyone made it an enjoyable place to live. We rarely heard noise from our neighbors above us and never heard anything on either side of us. You also can’t beat the views from the floor to ceiling windows or the rooftop. From the time we moved in to the time we had to break our lease early the leasing office made things as easy as possible. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Elevation to anyone and would absolutely rent there again.
We are very thankful for the chance to have lived at Elevation for almost 3 years! I will absolutely admit the constant construction was not fun, but we were aware of it when we chose to move in. I have seen other reviews about how the walls are thin, but I truly disagree. We could never hear our neighbors, only if someone was loudly talking as they passed our door. The on site staff are part of the reason our experience was so great. The maintenance team was excellent, always timely and quick to resolve our issues. The main concierges are great as well! In the leasing office, Caroline is a true saint. She was always prompt to respond to any email I sent, and has so much kindness and empathy.
