This is an amazing venue to see a ballet. I haven’t been to the ballet in several years, this is hands-down one of the best venues to see a ballet. The building has an amazing decor, the seats are very comfortable, the acoustics are amazing and the staff are exceptional. I was very pleased with the show, orchestra and sets. This is the best ballet I’ve seen so far, and I’ve seen ballets at numerous venues around the country. I highly recommend this venue.
Slowly I am going to each of the venues in the performing arts district. In the Ellie Caulkins Opera House I saw Weird Al, so I was appropriately attired with a Hawaiian t-shirt. Inside was pretty and visually appealing. Acoustics seemed good as well.
Lovely theatre experience. I’ve come her multiple times over the decades and it’s a wonderful high art theatre building apart of the great DCPA. Great building and infrastructure to support wonderful art, nice staff and great resident companies. I highly suggest a visit.
Lovely old theater. Gil's Colorado Ballet Company working hard to put out a quality product. Tradition of the Nutcracker every year is appreciated. New costumes and new set ----and a new Sugar Plum Fairy
Went to see the Dracula ballet and it was so fun! Great acoustics and performers. It didn't get to hot or too chilly. Seats clearly labeled by number which makes them easy to find.
Beautiful theater and our first Opera! We seen Carmen and enjoyed it very much! Only issue we had was it was very hot in theater at our seats. Made it uncomfortable and needed the AC or something on. Other that that the show was great and very nice theater!
Even from the rear row of box seats in the Loge, there was a good view. There was no air circulation though, it felt like 80-85 and humid. It was really uncomfortable. You could feel the drop in temperature every time you entered the hallway. The Ballet was wonderful, but the temperature ruined the experience a bit.
Great venue for a theater production. We saw The Nutcracker here tonight and loved it. We sat in the left side facing the stage loge seats. The view was about a B plus rating. You can definitely see the show and all the actors, etc. However, you aren't seeing facial reactions on the actors. For the budget minded person these are perfect seats. They are priced at $40 or $60 each. Definitely go see The Nutcracker. Well worth the cost! The view is from our seats.
Enjoyed the show from the balcony! Pre order and pay for your intermission cocktails before the show starts because the lines are long!
