Embargo 62

Food is good but I've been here twice and the service is not good at all. Most recent visit it took 45 minutes for our waitress to take our order for food. We ordered drinks and appetizers but we came for dinner, we cleaned our appetizer plates (there were five of us), waitress was no where to be found. When she came back one of us said "We're ready whenever you are", and she prompted us that she was going to go get our checks.... We informed her we had been waiting to order. No apology or anything. Once we did order, it took quite some time to get our food, about another 45 minutes. Maybe the server was new? Wasn't incredibly busy. Better experience than my first visit but not by much.

My husband and I went to embargo today to escape the massive rain storm... we have been there before and we love the food and drinks (especially the mojitos and punch) ☺️ The service is always wonderful and we always enjoy ourselves. The bartender, Jay, was testing out a recipe for a featured drink for mother’s day and asked us to try it and give him feedback... it was SO yummy and I highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice place for mother’s day to try Embargo! 👌🏻

This place can be a hit or a miss.i would hold this place in higher esteem if it were more consistent. The cigar lounge is another great addition to this establishment that adds to authentic Cuban style it tries to emulate. Either ways it has a great atmosphere that is best experienced with friends. Parking can be difficult to find sometimes. I recommend trying the Cuba libre if drinks are your thing!

We thought we'd never find a good Cuban restaurant here in Chattanooga. We really missed Cuban food once we moved here from Tampa, but until someone mentioned Embargo, we had no idea this wonderful place existed on the rapidly growing edge of North Shore. So glad we found it! Great food, excellent drinks - love all the rum options-and good service in a cool location with seating indoors and out. It may be simple, but I can't resist their real Cuban sandwich and plantains. I've never had a meal here I didn't love.

Still one of my favorite spots to eat here in Chattanooga! Parking can become a little bit of a hassle but it is always worth it when you order the oxtail. Tip: if you want the bang for your buck for drinks, get the pitcher if you have a group.
