Empanada Mama

This place is super good. They have awesome selection of drinks and (you guessed it) empanadas. The staffs were super friendly and gave great recommendations. The service was on point and quick. Me and my friend went there at 2 in the morning and it was crowded. But still that didn’t delayed the service at all. Very happy with my experience. No complaints about their food. Too good to be back soon. Definitely recommended.

For those who have been here prior to the fire that took out the old location: the new one is a good upgrade. It is bigger and therefore easier to get a table. The empanadas are really good and they have quite a variety. I would recommend staying away from the cheese burger one since it is super greasy. Also... This place is open 24 hrs, but you should be aware of the neighborhood and how it can affect the atmosphere (viz, gay) late at night. Not necessarily a bad thing but I didn't enjoy getting hit on while all I'm trying to do is take care of the munchies.

Had a great time. Love the staff, food is delicious and so are the drinks. Little pricey but so worth it 💕

Good environment, good service, good selection, and good value. The flavors were all distinct, and the difference between wheat and corn is real -- order selections of both. The broccoli cheese corn empanada was a favorite.

Before the fire, I visited Empanada Mama a few times during my travels to New York. I was a huge fan and became a fan of Hell's Kitchen as a result of eating there a few times per trip. The food is delicious. The service today, though, was terrible. I ran out of water twice, needed a refill on sauce, and my check - each time the waitress was nowhere to be found and I had to flag down another staff person to get any help at all. The food is delicious, but the service left a very bad taste in my mouth today. I don't plan on going back - surely there are other places in the city with empanadas.
