Employment Security Department

The us government is rediculous. I came in because my phone and wallet had been stolen. I had my police report, birth certificate, ssi card, and my unemployment letter. I needed to use a phone for a job interview. I came an hr before the interview so they had time to get it together so I could use the phone. They could not handle I didn't have an ID. It took them 45 mins to get a supervisor to approve me to use the services at the office. Then they didn't have a phone handy?? I could see about 6 from just standing in the lobby. But they could not handle this request. In the end I didn't get a phone intime for the interview and am going to continue to collect unemployment until I get another interview. Tax $'s hard at work. Great job IL.

Helpful staff but be patient if you need information during busy hours. Seems late in the afternoons are best. Computers available for job-related use only. Provides weekly schedule of job hunting classes. Hosts hiring events on site and elsewhere.

People friendly. African American lady there is very helpful n friendly.

The receptionist is the kindest person. She is always very welcoming. Most of the case workers are very helpful but very over worked. There is one African American woman who is a case worker that is very rude and short with clients. I know it's a very strong allegation but she comes off as prejudice towards anyone who is white. I don't feel comfortable going into the office any longer.
