My Scout went during our school's Spring Break, in April. The camp didn't have running water yet, because they charge the water system at the beginning of June, and our nearest water supply was a 100m walk down to a cattle trough that had well water on a spigot. So there were no showers and the toilets were "Blue Box". There are showering facilities at a couple of places in town that cater to hikers. The overnight lows were 30F and the highs hit 70F, so the arid conditions left clear skies all day and night. The vistas of the nearby Arches National Park were easily accessible and spectacular. The night sky was perfect for astronomy and the moon was bright enough to walk without flashlights. Estrada is a half an hour from anything, but BEWARE that we were in town at the same time as Jeep Week, so chose your trails carefully. We were told that the camp normally handles three hundred scouts, but our group, including dads, was about 20 and we managed to feel right at home. And since we were the only ones there, we also had a local supply a cord of local pine wood. Between the local wood and dead grass, campfires were easy to build, quick to get hot and easy to put out. I'd love to repeat the experience and recommend it to folks who don't want the clamping experience but don't like bugs.
