This gym is so much fun. I have attended classes at both the Bryant Park and Upper East side locations. Both were clean and the workers/instructors were friendly. The classes itself are a great workout. A quick 45 minutes but jam packed with high energy, unique exercises that really challenge you. They take the time to really explain each move to you and offer you differently difficulty levels depending on what you can do. The vibe is good and you don't feel pressured to do more than you can handle! I would highly recommend this gym.
Epic is my favorite spot in NYC! I have been looking for a great Fitness class that really pushes you and was able to find EPIC through class pass! I have taken classes with Cassidy and Sarah who are both great. The exercises rotate each month which gives you the chance to improve upon each exercise and challenge yourself. What I LOVE about epic is that you can't coast through the class and you will be called out if you start an exercise late. The class sizes are great because it really feels like you get one on one attention and even after one class the coaches remember your name.
Amazing class with great instructors. The stations are always different, challenging, and fun. I don’t get to climb ropes or do depth drops in other classes. All the stations are scalable so it is a good gym for all different fitness levels. You leave each class with a great sense of accomplishment.
The coaches are great. The members are awesome. The motivation, dedication and camaraderie among the coaches and athletes is beyond what anyone can ask for. You can really see a huge improvement in technique, strength, endurance and overall performance after consistently going to EPIC classes. The classes allow you to move between levels and discover things that you never knew your body can do. EPIC isn't like the typical fitness studio classes where people just go in to workout, shower, change and walk out. There is this a genuine interaction between coaches and athletes before, during and after classes which is important in building one's overall fitness. Thank you. =
Have tried all the different classes here and it's a fantastic workout. Each day is a different class and you go from station to station in pairs doing the exercises for specific intervals. The instructors are knowledgeable and motivating and will correct your form as you move through the workout. It's very much a team atmosphere where everyone motivates each other to get that extra rep in and finish strong. They do offer modifications for different levels but I probably wouldn't recommend a complete beginner to try this out. The only con is the cramped size of the locker room / bathroom area in both locations, plus lack of a water fountain / cooler. They do provide towels & basic amenities for the showers and such though.
The intensity is consistently high and the variation in the workouts is great so it rarely feels like one class resembles the other, except for how much you sweat. This really is a a class for all skill levels due to the level system present in each workout. You will never feel outclassed or embarrassed. The instructors are top notch The facility is great and clean.
EPIC is an incredible workout, with fantastic trainers and a welcoming community. I have been to many classes in NYC and I like going to workouts that push me harder than I can push myself at the normal gym. EPIC has new workouts and advanced moves that I enjoy learning and the trainers are rooting for you and encouraging you to do better. There are always modifications and on multiple occasions the trainers have helped me or others with form. The people that go to the gym are also super fit, which I find inspiring. From a logistical standpoint, they don't have a water fountain, so bring water and the workout is barefoot. I had never done the barefoot thing before, but after my first class I was used to it.
I have worked out in many gyms with many different focuses. The second you walk into Epic you know they mean business. Classes are small enough to get individual attention. The instructors are all friendly knowledgeable and most importantly there to help you while simtanously kicking your a$$. I am going twice a week cross training in conjunction with heavy lifting/crossfit and have seen a marked uptick in my endurance. Strongly recommend any interested in challenging themselves regardless of current fitness level.
Went for my first class the other day, and it was everything I would hope for. The class instructor Jesse was even-tempered, fluent in the routine, and perfectly attentive to those in the class. There was no yelling or distracting overacting. I got a great workout in, the facility was clean and just the right size. I REALLY wish there was a 9 AM Class, but other than that I am a fan. Next class today, can't wait!
I always have a great workout at Epic. My favorite class is Tone and Power. It is a nice blend of strength training and cardio. The instructor Sarah is great. The gym has a good energy and caters to individuals at different levels of fitness.
