I've enjoyed this gym since joining. They have a wide range of classes available at times I can go. This is why I made the switch. I was pleasantly surprised they had a full service spa. I had an 80 minute deep tissue massage today that was absolutely fantastic. So glad to find this option close to home in the 80s.
I've been going to this gym for over a year and haven't had any issues. It's clean, there's always equipment available, it's very rare anything is broken or down, the staff is friendly, the locker rooms are well sized, and people seem to be respectful of each other.
High priced scam. If you are unfortunate enough to find out they are no better than say…Crunch 3 blocks away, good luck getting them to cancel your membership. 4 straight calls to the manager resulted in being told “Oh, she just stepped into a meeting” and never getting a call back. I was stupid enough to join despite many negative reviews, so maybe I deserve what I got. They are liars and ocrooks and highly unprofessional.
One of the older Equinox locations but had all the equipment you would need for a good workout. Plenty of cardio machines, weights, etc. Gym is spread on two floors. Entrance is on second floor which has a small retail location, a snack bar, and the locker rooms. Has two fitness studios and a spinning studio as well
Love this club. It has a slower vibe and is definitely less intimidating than other gyms I've been to. not overcrowded and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the classes are collectively since there are so many different classes offered. love the juice bar, too
Solid Equinox location with an amazing staff led by Seth. The staff keeps the gym spotless and the trainers are incredibly helpful. Ask for Stan or Hakim if you want an amazing workout.
I used to train at the Bond St. locale, but, this location is *much better*: better equipment, better locker room, and better amenities e.g., smoothie bar for post-workout. Oh, and far fewer people at any given time, which means that I can train effectively: Bond St. was is always crazy busy.
The steam room is very weird. The steam constantly sets of the smoke alarm. Employees have to open the door and let the steam out every few minutes. And it is not even a lot of steam in there. Much weaker than my Dallas steam room. Weirdest thing, I have ever seen at any Equinox. The steam room is pretty much unusable.
Gym itself is fine although the locker room is super tight. The real issue is with the self-entitled manager. I've been to numerous locations throughout the city Hudson Yards, 63rd, 74th, 54th, etc with my compact electric scooter and never had a problem. Now all of a sudden, the manager at 85th has a problem with it and let me in "just this once". If you have issues with being in front of customers, then rethink your line of work. I would have just left for another location if I hadn't already booked a massage at this one. Not worth it when there are far better clubs around this location 74th & 63rd.
This was my first visit to any Equinox location and I was duly impressed. Workout facilities are pretty standard; lots of basic machines and equipment. A variety of classes are available for those who prefer group fitness. What impressed me was the locker room, which is large and beautifully finished and feels as if you're in a spa. Helpful staff members are scattered throughout. A gorgeous gym. Definitely worth a visit for those looking to splurge.
