Not a great experience. I had gone to Jolie for a few appointments to try IBE extensions. My first couple of appointments were ok, we started with one row of a couple wefts in my thin and fine hair which she said she specializes in. They weren't the original length I wanted but went with it anyway at her suggestion and because I think thats all she had that would remotely match even though I consulted with her thru text ahead of time that I wanted 18 inch. The extensions did break I think a month or so in and a lot of hair came out, but she was able to fix the unravelled weft at my next visit. But for $125 per weft and $125 to install each time, why is anything breaking after a $500+ visit? I was nonetheless understanding and returned. Later, as expected, the one row wasn't enough hair to give a full look so we discussed adding another row and she was able to fit me in last minute for the addition. My complaint at this point is mostly about her choice of placement. Originally with just one row, I could wear my hair up, she showed me the flip up after installation and how invisible they were with the one row. After the addition of the second row, she didn't flip it up otherwise I would've noticed that that 2nd row was totally visible and that I couldn't actually wear my hair up in a bun anymore which is the main selling point of IBE. But of course I didn't notice till I got home and $650 dollars later just for that one visit. **IBE is not a cheap form of extensions and they need to be installed on a case by case basis, not just one way for every persons hair type. And how the person wears their hair often should definitely be a question any stylist is asking when considering any hairstyle. My mother has been a hairdresser my whole life, I'm not new at the salon or with extensions. There is a different way to install them at more of an angle so that they dont show as much. As a professional she should've noticed this and discussed it with me before I paid for them to be installed that way because I would not have had I saw what they looked like pulled up and totally showing. The IBE stylist I went to later agreed. Long story short, after some hair drama from me trying to color my hair at home the next day in fact, to fix the too much blonde left in the extensions she provided when I told her explicitly I didn't want to have that much blonde, I fried my extensions unknowingly and a lot of hair came out. However I didn't know that what I had used to lift the color is what fried my extension hair off the weft. I assumed a weft broke again since it had in the past. I reached out to let her know that I thought it broke again. It wasnt until she referred me to another stylist since she doesn't live locally and only visits once a month that I discovered it was something I did to fry my extension hairs off. I was headed out of town that afternoon so I asked that the other stylist just communicate with Jolie about what she thought the issue was. Unfortunately when I got back to town to check in with Jolie about what the other stylist had said and how to proceed, she basically called me a liar, saying I withheld information about my hair coming out and what I had done idk why she would think I wouldn't be forthcoming with any  applicable information, she barely knows me and she sent some long txt about trust being broken yada yada and not to come back.  Just unnecessary drama and accusation of my character when the reality is I didn't understand the chemical process of what I used, and I'd assumed a weft just unravelled like it had in the past. **In addition, I will say I find it super unprofesh to speak about your political beliefs deep state nonsense etc and make other ignorant "jokes" because you really have no idea who is sitting in your chair. That might be ok in your own little shop clique, but not in a professional setting. I'm glad to have found a better IBE stylist that asks all the right questions and whom is personable, professional, and available with a legitimate eye for details to avoid this.

I've been a regular client here for over a year.  Initially came to see Mike because my wife got amazing cut and color results with Jolie.  These two are a rare dream team.  Savvy business owners with a focus on client satisfaction, exceptional hair care skills, the ability to attract quality team members and train them to deliver the same great experience, and all at a fair price.  Couldn't be more pleased to have them as fellow business owners in the Hillsdale town center SW Portland.

For at least a year if not two I've been following Jolie on Instagram. I was constantly falling in love with the before and after photos she was posting of her clients. Finally I went in and I was satisfied before she even got to work. She was honest about what we needed to do to get my hair where I wanted it. She explained why my hair did the things it did, she made suggestions, and she then worked her magic. I've been in twice so far and every time I come home to my husband complimenting my hair, even my teenagers notice how healthy and nice it looks! And the cut she did the first time, not that difficult, but my hair wasn't flipping all over the place like it usually does for two weeks post cut! I typically hate spending money on myself but this is one area I'm happy to do it for.. Because this has seriously boosted my self esteem. Thank you, Jolie!

Jolie was absolutely amazing! I have had a really hard time finding a hairdresser. Jolie understood exactly what I wanted. After a fabulous cut and color, my hair went from looking dull to superb ‍! I definitely recommend this place to anyone who need a quality hair cut & color

Mike has a natural gift for barbering. He understands how to create your style and provides the attention to detail of a master barber. He also offers a great shave that's relaxing and leaves your face feeling smooth and rejuvenated. Definitely get the Cut throat shave!  The salon is super easy to get to, clean, and welcoming with beautiful earth toned flooring and eco-friendly attributes. The barber's chairs are very comfortable at any angle including reclined for a proper shave.  Make an appointment with Mike and you will get great personal service from a skilled professional. I recently moved to Portland, before coming to Portland, I had gone to the same barber for 25 years and have had basically the same haircut. I don't know what my hair style is called but I as able to do a bad description and he nailed it! His wife did my wife hair and she loves it. They charge a little more than other in the area, but the quality it hard to beat!

Great people, great cuts and color. Cannot say enough positive things about Mike, Jolie, and Megan. Also, the salon is environmentally friendly which is just the icing on the cake!

Mike has given me amazing haircuts.  I've gotten a ton of compliments since going here. I always feel like I received a haircut worth much more than I actually paid.
