I have had many dumplings around New York City and this was by far one of the best places for soup dumplings. They helped us very last minute late at night and we had A blast. The staff was very kind and accommodating and funny. It was during Christmas and probably the best dinner we could have had then. It's perfect for a group outing.
Everything was totally delicious and the service was spot on, very attentive without being over bearing or pretentious. Our food was hot and fresh with enough sauce to make it moist and delicious and not swimming. First time trying dumplings and they were very tasty, definitely have those again. Vegetables we're lovely and crunchy and portion sizes very good. Highly recommend
Evergreen is a sort of nod to old fashioned Chinese restaurants in America. You have the Chinese-American plates like chicken broccoli and BBQ ribs, but you also get a good variety of choice in more authentic dishes like dim sum small plates. Food like Kung pao chicken actually has a good level of heat to it. The decor is fantastic to relay the feeling of an older style Chinese restaurant, with the trademark design of woodwork and drawings on the wall. There is good lighting and also a second floor level. Staff are very helpful and courteous. They can get a bit busy during lunch which has excellent deals for food in the area, by the way, but they will accommodate for requests as best they can and whenever they see a hand raised for them. As you can see from my photos, I couldn't really wait to eat before taking a picture. I will likely be back for more lunch in the future.
This place has the best Chinese food! Its literally amazing. I'm a vegetarian and its difficult for me to get delicious vegetarian Chinese food, but this place makes everything 100% vegetarian and everything is outstanding! Ever since we ate here we have been getting home delivery once a week. We absolutely love it. They have a very good lunch special as well.
Old school New York, male waiters, great food, China inspired woodwork decor. Menu has the most popular Chinese American dishes but also some different, like jellyfish. Excellent for dieters and people with allergies, there is a style-your-own dish menu, my friend got tofu and veggies all steamed. Sesame chicken was the best I've ever had -- not greasy or lumpy or covered in goo, just perfection. Also, tables are spaced apart and the clientele was mature, so we could have a nice conversation without yelling. Not trendy. It was heaven for me.
Great soup dumplings. The service is top notch. Comes regular for their lunch specials, and the price is more than fair. Make sure you ask them to reduce salt if you don't like too salty because they are a bit heavy with it. Otherwise, a great place for authentic Chinese menu
Horrible experiences. Food is beyond terrible in my opinion I’m from Shanghai so I have a high standard for Shanghainese food. And the restaurant charged us 4 people a 20% gratuity fee without notifying us. I rejected to pay that and told them I will only accept 15%. The waiter said ok and then come back and yelled at us it’s legal to charge that and a lot of American customers pay them 25%+. I got mad and told him that I’m from Shanghai and the food here is garbage.
We have stayed there before and enjoyed the experience. This visit was a quick stop for take-out. Food and seevice is always great. We highly recommend!Food: 5/5
Excellent food. Exceptionally clean. Fantastic service. Very polite and elegant employees. The art and decorations in this restaurant are beautiful. The food is delicious and very impressive. Prices are very fair and drinks are very well priced. We definitely recommend this restaurant. It's been around for over 20 years. It's a jewel in a wonderful neighborhood. Perfect for small or large groups. They care about their business. The cleanliness is really impressive. We wish more restaurant s were as clean as this and as professional. Congratulations to the employees and the owners.
I used to love this place my entire office orders here I have even carried out for dinner but sadly i will have to find a new restaurant. I ordered chcicken and broccoli received beef. That is a huge mistake the only accomodation i wqs offered was wait for the delivery guy to return and have him deliver chicken. Thats one option, it was not my mistake why should i have to continue to be inconvenienced?
