Rented a Tesla Model Y and it was a great experience. Rental agents were very nice and helpful. Car was clean and fully charged when i arrived. They even had someone do a full inspection of the car before I left to check for damages. Great idea to protect both parties involved. Returning car was also painless as I pulled up and someone was there to check the car and log the return into the system. Overall, I was impressed with the experience and will rent from them again. *Please note* You will need to provide full insurance information full declaration page showing policy limits etc before they will let you rent a Tesla. They also put a $1,000 dollar hold on your credit card for the duration of your rental
Looking at the reviews it appears I got lucky and with no wait, polite staff and I got the vehicle that I had reserved. I rented a convertible for just two days in early May to travel to the state and National parks. It costs more than your lodging if you rent a premium vehicle for the week in Vegas. There was no one in line when I arrived at 6am but all the paperwork still takes about 15-20 minutes with lots of reading and signing. They try to push extra insurance on you even though my personal policy covered it. You also will have to drive more than 75 miles or you are charged a fee. Also, you can pre-pay for the gas and bring it back empty or fill up within 5 miles of the drop off and show the attendant your receipt. My vehicle was somewhat dirty and had scrapes, dents, dings and permabugs on the front grill. You also have to take a shuttle back to the airport after the return. Don’t forget to: take photos and video and document all damage before pick up and before drop off. Bring a flashlight because the garage is not well lit and you can find the detrition easier. Photo of Mileage before and after and gas tank level. It was the best price in Vegas for a convertible so since I did not have any issues I would probably try them again.
Well, if I could give zero stars, I would. Perhaps the 1 star can be for how fantastically Budget sucks. We stood in line for over 90 minutes. After the usual 10 minute paperwork ordeal, we were instructed to sit and wait for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, we were called back up, and after 5 more minutes of paperwork, we were told that the car was “being sanitized”, and we should wait 15 more minutes before going to get it. That’s where we are now. 2 hours into this ordeal. Of course, Budget knew exactly how many people had reservations today. They deliberately made the decision not to staff their counter appropriately. Consider my suffering your fair warning. DO NOT RENT FROM BUDGET LAS VEGAS AIRPORT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
Service was fast, at 4am. We were told at the counter there was a new Jeep for us, but it had temp tags. We got to the hotel and I realized that meant there was no physical plates on the car. We were pulled over 2 times on our journey by local law enforcement for no plates. When I explained to the officers the plate was taped in the window they both looked at it and said that it was expired. I showed them my rental agreement showing i had just picked up the car from Budget and they let me go without a citation. The issue here is I drove around with plates that were expired prior to me renting it, and then they charged me $6.00 for licensing fees. I cringed every time i saw police just waiting to get pulled over again. I contacted Budget 3 days ago and they have never reached back out to me to apologize or resolve. Don't take a car from here that doesn't have plates its not worth the hassle.
The Budget Car Rental experience at Harry Reid McCarren Airport left me with less than my expectations. The lines waiting for service were long. Eventually the process of finalizing the rental terms left me feeling pressured by the agent to purchase additional insurance coverage. The rental car 2021 Toyota Avalon was satisfactory and clean upon taking possession. I did take a video of the exterior of the car before I drove it. Upon returning the rental car, the agent said that I had failed to document any damage on the car prior to signing the car out. I do not recall being instructed to note defects. MY MISTAKE! I was required to speak to an agent who instructed me to fill out an "INCIDENT REPORT" before I could leave. We arrived at the Rental Car Return at 11:05 AM. It was 12:40 PM by the time I had finished. Most of this time was waiting in line for service!
I have rented from this location numerous times. If you arrive after 9 pm, the Fast Break office will be closed; you have no other option but to wait in line. This is the third time in the past 2 months that the line has a wait time over one hour. This location is NOT a corporate location; it is independently owned and operated. There are different sets of rules for independent locations verses corporate. NOTE! Do not prepay for a reservation; you will lose the full amount paid if you cancel after the reservation time. I called the customer service number and asked if I could get a partial refund because of the excessive wait, Sara said that I would lose my entire $465.00 for my two day rental . I informed her that the SIXT and PAYLESS next to the Budget location have vehicles available with no waiting. Sara apologized and said there is nothing that she can do and that I will just have to be patient?! While in line, I went to the AVIS and HERTZ website, both have premium programs similar to Budget Fast Break. AVIS Preferred and HERTZ Gold are available 24 hours a day; they do not shut down at 9 pm like Budget. They are both corporate run, which seems to be the catalyst for efficiency. Highly recommend looking at other rental agencies when flying into Las Vegas. This will be the last time Budget disappoints me. Lesson learned at the expense of my time, which is not important to Budget Las Vegas location.
My family recently visited Las Vegas to celebrate a family member's wedding and vacation together for a week. We rented a 7-seat SUV from Budget for the week and it was actually a really good experience. I felt like since it was unusually great, that I owed them a quick review: Starting with arrival, the shuttles from the terminal were running so often that we didn't have to wait at all. The rental car center that all companies share was clean, comfortable, and easy to navigate. We were greeted by a friendly employee again no waiting and checked-out in about 5 minutes. No attempts to upsell except a casual mention about pre-paid fuel - no pressure, just a quick ask. The car we received, a Chevy Traverse, was exactly what we needed/expected and it took good care of us all week long. When we we brought the truck back to return, there was again no wait to check-in and I was handed a receipt on the spot that confirmed the expected amount for the rental. There were no complaints about our taking a few minutes in the return line to get the kids' car seats out and rigging up all our luggage to head back to the shuttles. In fact, one kind car-prep employee went out of his way to bring us a luggage carrier without me even asking. The shuttle back to LAS was pretty quick to arrive about a 5 minute wait at the curb and dropped us off right in front of the terminal near baggage. Overall, there were so many opportunities for Budget and the LAS system to drop the ball in this process and they didn't flinch once. We travel a fair bit as a family and it is something special to make it all the way through a trip with no regrettable mistakes. Thank you all again for helping to make our trip special and enjoyable!
The line was extremely long and moved very slowly, even for our prepaid rental. Perhaps we just arrived at a busy time, but it seemed that the other rental companies were keeping up. Once we completed the lengthy check in process, we had a long walk to the far side of the parking garage to locate our vehicle. When we opened the doors, we were surprised at the condition of the vehicle as it appears that no one had cleaned the inside at all after the previous rental. The leather seats were soiled as was the dash, door panels, floor, etc. I would have expected them to at least wipe those surfaces, especially with Covid still being a concern. If we had not had to walk so far from the rental counter we probably would have asked for another car, but by this point we just took the car and cleaned it ourselves. In the end the vehicle ran well and worked out great. I just didn't feel that we should have to clean the car before using it.
I rented the most expensive car in the lot and it was a 2021 Cadillac Escalade, I was looking for it and a lady that worked there showed me where it was and gave me a pin and a paper and told me to mark any damages I see on the body, there was some here and there which wasn’t a problem at all, I got into the car noticed the key fob was broken, I told the guy at the gate and we put a note on it. I left the lot going to the hotel and when I got there I noticed that the car was super dirty and full of black stains every on the carpet and on the seats, I called budget number 20 minutes after leaving and asked if they could transfer me to the Las Vegas location and there was no help and I also asked if they could leave a note for me that the car is full of stains and they said they can’t do that and the only way for me was to go back to the airport which I couldn’t do so because of my tight schedule, I was hoping for them to work with me when I return the car but I was turned down and wasn’t able to speak to anyone. I’m very upset with my experience at budget and it’s way below my expectations specially with renting a luxury SUV that I paid $500 a day for it.
Not sure why so many negative reviews. Everything was smooth. Booked a car online, pre-paid and got a pretty good deal. Kept the car for 13 days. Lady at the time of check-in was very friendly. She even gave some recommendations. No issue at all locating the car. In terms of the car, got an Hyundai Accent, there was definitely some alignment issues that I felt while driving, but it did not break down once during the entire 2 weeks and gave a great mileage. Drop-off was smooth too, agent standing right there and got me checked out in 2 minutes. You do get a shuttle to and fro the Vegas Airport which takes about 20-30 minutes overall
