Decided to have lunch there after taking the car to the Lexus service shop. Haven't been there since 94" when I was in high school. Pizza was still very good and the customer service was excellent. Will definitely go back when I'm on the area.
Love this local shop. Been going there since the 80s and love supporting local. Legit pizza legit customer service. My last experience wasn’t the best however, see photo. Don’t let this deter you though. This is a rarity. Legit pizza shop…
Ordered a large cheese pizza to go. It was ready pretty quick and it came out very hot. Staff was friendly when we picked it up. Pizza tasted really bland. There was a lot of cheese but it didn’t have any flavor. Had high hopes after reading the reviews but overall pretty flavorless pizza and definitely not a New York style pizza.
Had high hopes reading the reviews but the pizza was sadly, straight up bad. Sauce had no flavor, cheese had no flavor, toppings had no flavor. The only flavor was burnt dough, which confused me because the bottom didn’t look overly cooked $20.75 for 16” won’t be giving them a second chance. Bummer.
I decided to order from Fairlington Pizza because I was VERY hungry and knew if I selected carefully I could end up with enough food for two meals. So I ordered Chicken Breast Burger with fries and a soda, Chicken Steak Sub, Carrot Cake, and Onion Rings. The food arrived within a reasonable time and still hot. The burger was so big it had to be slightly folded to enter the container and the amount of fries were, as you can, more than enough to make anybody happy. The Onion Rings were huge, thickly sliced and well battered. And, once again, still warm. The Carrot Cake was a surprise as it also had raisins. I am not really a fan of raisins by themselves but when added to cake or pudding they can improve a dessert greatly. Which they did. The Carrot Cake was great. I would even suggest that is was equal to the Carrot Cake served by the Carrot Tree down near Jamestown. The Chicken Steak Sub was saved for the next day and was easy to heat up as it was already in tinfoil. And it was pretty good also. Even the soda was cold because it was in its own little bag - kept away from the hot stuff. In the future, if I ever want a lot of good food for a few meals because I am too lazy to cook for myself, or I have a friend over, I'm ordering from Fairlington Pizza. Addition - Ordered food delivery a few days ago. This time got a Fish Sandwich and a Veggie Sub and the side of Onion Rings and of course the great Carrot Cake. The order was delivered within 40 minutes and the food was nice and hot. The Fish sandwich was perfect and I swear the Carrot Cake slice looked bigger than last time. The Veggie Sub was saved for the next day and the Rings were perfect. No complaints. And still five out of five. Just some more photos! Addition - Ordered a New York Style Cheese Pizza, Onion Rings, and once again their Carrot Cake. Nothing add but wish I could give them more than five stars. They deliver the food on time and warm during rush hour on a weekend. And yes, I live near DC, we have rush hours on the weekends too. Update - Not much to add. Ordered delivery and found the Root Beer they use is Mug Root Beer. Which I think is the best Root Beer. And they still have the best Onion Rings.
Great New York style pizza in a local shopping center. The Hawaiian pizza was delicious.Food: 5/5
I just have to say Fairlington Pizza has become my favorite location for a gluten sensitivitie pizza. The first time we ordered here, I did a little happy dance eating my first slice. I wanted to do a review then but before I could remember to take a picture my pizza was gone we ordered again last week and it was just as amazing. It is become difficult for me to find a gluten sensitive pizza that does not taste like cardboard. Thank you Fairlington Pizza for becoming one of my favorite places!!!
Maybe I was hungry, but I thought the pizza was darned good. Not NY style, not Chicago style, just good, solid pizza. Quite cheesy and cheese was good. For anyone who said it didn’t have enough flavor, they have Parmesan cheese, crushed red pepper and Chollula all over the place. Go hog wild. Prices very reasonable for DC. Extra bonus and the reason to leave a review is that they actually had local sports stuff up, including a lot of Washington football stuff. Usually local places pick some out of town team and rock that. Refreshing to see actual DC football stuff in here. I did see one poster with Aikman and Emmit Smith on it vomit, but it was behind the drink fridge and you couldn’t see it without a serious inspection. So, that aside, respect for rocking local sports stuff.
Update: I received my replacement pie tonight and it was much better! I also had a nice conversation with a man who I assume was maybe the Manager or Owner and I appreciated them correcting the situation. The pizza was made perfectly and tasted delicious. I will gladly support this local business another time. Original Review: Caveat, this was my first experience here and unfortunately it's not a positive one. You that feeling when it's Friday night, you're craving a simple cheese pie, you're excited to try a new spot, you even do carry out because pizza delivered is typically never that great. You arrive home, you're so excited to dive in and open the box to this... The person handed me my pizza and it was immediately placed on the floor of my SUV, there were no crazy turns on my drive home. Therefore, I have to imagine the pizza simply wasn't cooked correctly or long enough. I did call and they offered to give me a credit for a free replacement pizza on my next visit. If the next pizza is better I will happily update my review. However, for now I'm pretty disappointed and still hungry since I have no pizza to eat.
First time customer, thought I would give this local spot a try for delivery. As soon as I opened the box, it was obvious something was wrong. Toppings were raw and looked like they had been dumped unevenly on a reheated pizza. The crumbled sausage was pale white and dried out. The cheese had that waxy look like it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day. I could tell as soon as I bit into a slice it was reheated, the crust had a stale taste and the middle was cold. On top of that, everything slid off as soon as I picked up an unevenly cut slice. The middle was soggy to the point it soaked through the cardboard. To go with it, my side salad was sprinkled with bits of wilted old iceberg lettuce. I had to throw it away. Hoping to find a reliable local pizza spot, instead I ended up hungry and sorely disappointed. My advice is to avoid Fairlington Pizza. What they delivered was not pizza. Will keep searching for a local place.
