Families Together, Inc.: Encouraging, Educating, and Empowering Kansas' families and their sons and daughters who have disabilities.
Families Together have been the Parent Training and Information Center for 35 years. The organization was started to provide support to families who were otherwise isolated by the challenges they faced in caring for a son or daughter with disabilities or special health care needs. Today, the staff who work directly with families are all parents of persons with disabilities or appointed advocates or guardians of persons with disabilities. Each staff member can empathize with the joys and challenges of finding services and partnering with education and health care professionals.
Families Together provide training and information through individual support, conferences, workshops, and peer support. Our staff also works with young adults to help them make a successful transition to adult life. This includes employment, health care, adult services in the community and recreation.
