This could be a really great train station - IF there were enough parking and IF their were more frequent service!! There is an excellent waiting room on the south-in-bound side with a clean rest room and a shelf full of bring-one-take-one books, but it is only open from 6am to 2pm. The building on the north side is historical. Parking is $5 for folk who don't have a resident permit and is completely full by 7:20. On the weekend parking is free and of course you have your choice of spaces one either side of the track BUT their is only one train in each direction per hour and you have to change in Newark Penn Station.

If you don't have a parking permit, and you get there any later than 7:30am, you can forget about parking! It's super frustrating and inconvenient...maybe should think about expanding the lot or opening another lot nearby in Fanwood to accommodate the residents.

Clean, convenient. It's a shame that the indoor seating area isn't open for more hours during the day.
