Fernson Brewing Company

Stopped by for a tasting while driving cross-country, were able to try just about everything they made. Loved the lager and the petite saison, these are truly excellent beers served in a welcoming and relaxed environment. Adam was terrifically helpful and knowledgable. If you're anywhere near Sioux Falls and love beer, you will NOT be sorry you stopped.

It's a damn nice facility. I don't get up this way often, so I didn't realize that they were hiding some good stuff up here that I've not seen. The Forty Winks was really nice, and the reason I made the trip. Service was good. I do wish we'd gotten there earlier, I wanted to try the brown.

We were on a cross country trip when Hurricane Irma was heading towards our home in Florida. We stopped in Sioux Falls for 4 days to wait it out. Found this wonderful little brewery. Staff was super friendly. Beer was great. When the hurricane passed We filled a couple growlers to go and continued west. This is one of our favorite craft breweries of the 50+ we visited on this trip.

Great brewery, doing some very good work. And amazingly convenient stop if you're just passing through. I was looking for a spot to stop for lunch, and decided to grab a Subway sandwich (half mile south of he brewery) and bring it to Fernson. Great beer (I realized when I arrived that it was my second time having their beer as my in-laws bought me a six-pack of their IPA on their last trip through town). Friendly staff and a great spot. Easy on and off the highway if you need to keep making good time. 639.9

Service was fine the other night, pizza/bread place next door is solid. Beers are not good, being a beer guy who's traveled the nation and world sampling and comparing styles. Super malty IPAs, the IPA is 7% and the imperial was 7.5%? Could barely taste the hops through the malts. Vienna lager was the best one on tap. That one is a 4 star beer not super impressed overall. Location is cool.
