First United Methodist Church

This church does a lot of great work for and with the downtown community. I felt welcomed there immediately. The music is great at both the traditional and contemporary services and the sermons are always thought-provoking.

A great community! I attend the 9:30 service because it suits my schedule, and enjoy the expertly played organ music at that service. It feels like one family, just from different backgrounds and current circumstances, who get together each week to grow closer to God and each other

Tom preaches, teaches, explains and creates the best worship experience I’ve ever attended. He tells a story about passages in the Bible and relates it to today’s world. Friendly people

A wonderful church home for all people. After a couple of decades in a church in another part of town, I found it was time for a change. Whether you live downtown, are visiting town, or live in any other part of town, you are welcome at Memphis First United Methodist Church. This church is dedicated to making a difference in Memphis and the world by sharing God's love for everyone.

First Church has wonderful ministries that serve the homeless and the needy in the downtown Memphis area. Great place to get involved if seeking volunteer opportunities that deal directly with those in need.
