Story

St. John’s United Methodist Church is a reconciling congregation located in historic Midtown Memphis. We welcome everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, economic status, disability, and those who sojourn on the way to recovery and wholeness. We are a diverse community whose discipleship to Jesus Christ is best illustrated through our deep commitment to servant ministry. Welcome Home!

Absolutely wonder church, I recently did an essay on the church’s architectural features and I was welcomed with open arm and they were willing to answer any question I had. I was greeted with kindness and I could feel God working through these people making Memphis a better place.
A church that practices what they preach in every possible way. They will accept you as you are, and love you for exactly who you are on the inside. They practice 100% acceptance for all to all religions, sexual orientations, lifestyle choices, criminal or personal past, any economic status. They will welcome anyone and everyone with open arms and hearts. They are very involved in the recovery community and provide out of this world support to local non-profits so they can help more people They offer an almost never ending list of FREE services to the homeless, sick and suffering. I highly encourage you to visit them sometime regardless of your religious stance or status. They are wonderful people to have in your life.
I do some sound work for them and a band that the church has. Really cool church and everyone I have met has been really nice and down to earth. Most are recovering from an addiction of some kind. That's kinda their thing. I like the church a lot. Good people
What an incredible church! I was in town visiting family and dropped in, and I am so glad I did! The Word was proclaimed, the peace was shared, the joy was real, and God's love was in it all!

I visited today for the first time and I was welcomed and made to feel at home the moment I step through the door. Rev Judi is just wonderful!
Friday night 6pm. Bring your emotions and they will turn to JOY! Great music Friday nights and Sunday mornings. Those rev’s can sing!
Great place. Have live music, the way on fridays evenings along with food. There is also food on Tuesday and Saturdays. They also provide a legal service help and advice on tuesday evening.
I visited when my daughter was a student at U of M. She enjoyed attending, and I found the church to be warm, friendly, and very welcoming.
GREAT LOVING PEOPLE.. GREAT BAND ON FRIDAY NIGHTS " THE WAY BAND" DOES ALOT FOR THE COMMUNITY. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL..YOU ARE APPRECIATED
