What a gem! This has to be one of the most beautiful theaters I've ever been to. I know I went as a child and saw a few shows here but this was my first time as an adult, and it certainly did not let me down. This building is a precious piece of Detroit history and it has been lovingly restored through the years. The design reminds me a little bit of Kubrick's The Shining. Staff was very welcoming and nice, super helpful in finding my seat and showing us around. I was there for Hamilton and I get to return over the winter show season, I'm so excited to go back.
It’s an older theater with smaller and tighter seats but the atmosphere and building are beautiful. We were here in December and the holiday decor was stunning. It all really sets the mood for a wonderful night out. We saw the Hadestown tour which was an unbelievable experience. Our seats, while in the balcony, still offered a great view. The safety mandates for the pandemic were all efficient and painless. The ushers were helpful and drinks tasty. There might be better theaters even in Detroit but this palace still presents a positive experience of culture and art.
I will preface this review with the fact that I am a Metro-Detroit native with a soft spot in my heart for all things Detroit. In the past 6 weeks our family has enjoyed both Hamilton and Les Mis at the Fisher theater. The Fisher is an excellent venue for live musical theater. The acoustics in the theater are amazing. The walls seem to hold the musician's voice in the air granted the musicians have been equally amazing. The only challenge with an old building is lack of and age of the bathrooms. For a woman at intermission you literally have to run at the end of the act for a chance of making it through the bathroom line. The bathrooms in the basement of the building were kinda grungy. The staff of the Fisher is amazing, friendly, and helpful. I can guarantee I will return.
I can’t believe I never rated this beautiful building. We’ve seen Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton here. The shows themselves are great, but you should walk through the building for fun on your own time. Neat basement with tunnel, gold everywhere, elevators & stairs, shops in the front. Well kept and create construction.
Always a delight! Loved The Band's Visit. Can't wait to see more. we don't take pictures from our seats because cameras are supposed to be off. Enjoy the shows!
A beautiful, historic building. We saw Les Mis and it was great. Not a bad seat in the house. A wonderful venue with great acoustics.
Beautiful place, inside there is a theater, few shops and I saw a lot of people coming to take some precessional pics as wedding.
Amazing venue. No bad seats. The building and the theatre are worth checking out.
This building is breathtaking! Great place to see a show! The staff is wonderful!
Very nice, small, intimate theater. There are no bad seats here! Historical building. Food available, and fashion boutiques...and a pharmacy!
