I came upon FITCURE as I was on a mission for 2 months to find something to help treat my low back pain that suddenly started. I am very active in the "work out class" community and the ELDOA method is like no other class that I have tried before. Not only did it absolutely relieve my back pain after just 1 class, but it is a very unique and challenging type of workout. The small, personal classes are an added bonus as you get a lot of 1-on-1 attention to assist with proper posturing/positioning. I have now made this class as part of my weekly workout regimen.
I went to see David Patane of FITCURE at the recommendation of a friend. I had been lamenting the issues I was having 18 months post op from bilateral knee replacement. My friend and her husband immediately said I should see David. Prior to seeing David, I did PT for 8 months and had a personal trainer for several months. Furthermore, I worked out 5-7 days a week. I was sure I was doing the right things for my recovery, but I still struggled and so I just worked harder and harder. The most important thing I learned from David is that working harder is not always smarter. I needed to slow it down and shift my focus. He taught me several techniques that I have incorporated into my daily routine. Oddly enough, I am working out less and yet I have lost weight and my mind is less chaotic. For me and my situation, my recovery is journey and I was glad David put me on a different path and I look forward to working with him further.
I've been going to see Dave for about six years and to say he's changed my life is the understatement of the century. Dave's approach to working out isn't about how "hard" you go, how much you sweat, how exhausted you feel, or how sore you are after your session. Don't get me wrong - you will get a great workout. How you define a workout will shift though. Upon your initial consultation, Dave spends time helping you consider all reasons as to why you are signing up; your emotional state of being, your stress levels, physical symptoms, personal habits, different extraneous factors etc. He will ask you questions about your life that you didn't even think were relevant to making you healthier. His approach is a 180 degree flip from a lot of the gyms out there; he's not looking to get you immediate results like you'd see on "The Biggest Loser" where you hear about contestants putting the weight back on after the show goes off the air. To Dave, that approach isn't effective for the mass population. Why disregard all factors that have hindered your health improvements and slowly work on them together? It's about health-longevity. A healthy life for the rest of your life. If you're looking for those long-term results, there is no doubt in my mind that Fitcure should be your go-to.
After taking a few of Dave’s group classes I was impressed by his knowledge and intrigued by his approach to health & fitness. I started working with him one-on-one to address some chronic low back and hip issues that I wasn’t getting any long term relief for after seeing multiple practitioners throughout the years. After just a handful of sessions he was able to help me identify the root of the pain and teach me how to correct old patterns that caused it in the first place. I’ve not had any problems since. He is now my go-to for any type of physical pain. A great balance of smart and intuitive. Highly recommend!
I came to Dave with multiple chronic illnesses that made me hard to train for the vast majority of trainers. On one hand, I needed to workout to prevent episodes of ill health from occurring hence, why I sought training. On the other hand, I couldn't be pushed too hard because too much strain and stress would set off one or more of my conditions. I found that I felt guilty and disparaged when working with other trainers, because I couldn't do the pounding workouts they wanted from me without feeling like it was detrimental to my body. It was never that I had a lack of willpower - I could do the workouts through sheer willpower - but that the exercises used by typical trainers weren't right for me. All of that changed when I happened upon FITCURE via the ELDOA class. The first thing I noticed was that ELDOA was a method that I had intuitively been trying to construct on my own to decompress my spine. It just made a lot of sense. The second thing I noticed was that any feeling of strain or dizziness from my dysautonomia a central nervous system disorder went away completely. During the evaluation, Dave found signs of an undiagnosed eye condition that was interacting and setting off all my other conditions. I went to see an eye doctor and requested specific tests - sure enough, Dave was right! From then on, I didn't look back and began working with Dave. After just over one month of working with Dave so far, I've learned so many tools. My problem with prior trainers was that very little of what they taught me in one on one sessions could be replicated on my own or could help me in my daily life. But now, I have an extensive, yet easy to implement list of things that I can use. I don't doubt the signals that my body sends me anymore, but I've learned to finetune how to respond to the signals. I don't miss training sessions anymore, either. Sometimes unexpected flare-ups would force me to miss training sessions with my prior trainers. But I learned that one session or one class at FITCURE could dissipate any symptoms that I might be feeling. I might end up crawling to FITCURE, but when I leave, I'm walking tall with a complete sense of well-being. If you have a chronic illness or chronic symptoms that are holding you back from working out or being fully functional in your day to day life, and you've spent a lot of time and money trying to figure things out to no avail, I highly suggest you try visiting FITCURE!
I truly couldn’t recommend a better fitness studio to really transform your life and thought process. I always manage to learn something new from each experience I have working out at Fitcure. Almost three years later, I can confidently say I’ve learned how to live a happier life because of this journey to connect the mind, the body, and the spirit. You’ve got to try it!
Great instructor and great classes both group classes and personal training! Fitcure focuses on fine-tuning and balancing the body which will benefit you for the long run. Highly recommend for anyone to give it a try
