Fjord Fish Market

Fjord at New Canaan is very different from Greenwich. I have never been disappointed in Greenwich. I bought "sushi"grade tuna at New Canaan twice, and have been very disappointed. It tasted fishy and old. I think they hold the fish longer in New Canaan because of the low turn-over. Very disappointing.

I wish they had more locations. Always fresh and a great spot for a quick lunch. Staff is really helpful. My mother used to shop for the family here when I was a little girl.

New to the area, wanted to like this place. It's very clean and there were people making sushi to order. There is a chilled case of prepared items, and a small menu of hot items you can order including a lobster roll. The fish selection is good, prices are higher then I'm accustomed to but I'm sure it's normal for this affluent area. There is parking in the back which is great because it's located in a "downtown area". My problem was I ordered some salmon and cod. The salmon was OK, not the best, not the worst, but the cod was inedible. It smelled of ammonia which means it's decomposing and not fresh. Sadly, I won't be back.

Terrific fresh fish. You pay for the quality, but it is worth it. Excellent sushi. Fast, friendly service. The Fjord dip is about as good as such things get. This is a great lunch option in New Canaan.
