We came here for happy hour on a weekday. Walk in only no reservations but the wait wasn't too bad. We got one of each flavor of the mussels and some drinks. The mussels were really good and flavorful. My favorite one was the classic one. Drinks were good too would come back again!
An incredible date night spot. The food is incredible. The amount of mussels you get has so much value. I recommend getting the classic and Dijon. The burnt fingers were a great appetizer with the crispy calamari and peppers. There is unlimited bread with the mussels and you definitely want to use it to soak up the delicious broth. We got truffles fries as well but didn’t need to have it as the bread was more than enough. The drinks are also delicious - the one two many is a light and refreshing cocktail that paired well with the meal. I’m definitely coming back soon!
Hidden gem. One of the best happy hour spots you can go to. I had no reservations and was able to walk in during happy hour time and got seated quickly. There is NO happy hour outdoors. The menu is fairly priced and extensive for the happy hour, we ended up having our dinner here. The crowd at the bar and outdoor seating pick up very quick as the happy hour progresses, definitely make your way here sooner rather than later. There was nothing wrong with everything we ordered, the fungi mussels is the way to go. Do not skip on the oysters! It’s not on their online menu, but their in store menu shows oysters primarily from PEI for $1.5 each!
Came with a friend for dinner and the night was great. We enjoyed sitting at the bar, being well-treated by the bartender. Food was overall 4.3 but 5 for the whole experience. Both cocktails One, Two, Many and Half Seas Over we got were great. All fruity and sweet. I don’t thing they are for people who love alcohol because they tasted almost like juice. But definitely perfect for people like us who don’t drink a lot. But but, percentages were high! Please drink slow even though they are sweet. For the food, like you know you’ll be able to find somewhere else better, but still good enough. Still, mussel dishes are must-try, and Dijon one is definitely a hit! The sauce was too good too go with the bread, the flavor balanced so well with a hint of white wine. Donuts were delicious but I think flavors of filling could be slightly improved. Lemon one had a strong taste of raw egg white, and the salty caramel was a little bit too salty and intense.
Great spot for oyster happy hours, which go till 7 everyday. Oysters were nice and fresh, my only complaint was that their mignonette variation wasn’t my favorite - but I’m traditional in that regard. And they should just serve the red sauce by request - IMHO using that is akin to ordering a good steak well done. But it’s also a place you can easily move on to a full dinner of… you guessed it, mussels! Several broths to choose from - I got the Dijon - and oh so good! The mussels were super plump and delicious in the sauce. I finished with the donuts, which they’re also famous for, and do suggest you save space for them. They’re really good!
The mussels were sooo good. Big and meaty. I had the lobster bisque and my friend had the Portuguese mussels. Hers was even better! I think it's a new flavor and I highly recommend. I suggest you make a reservation tho. They were packed both indoors and outdoors.
This place was 5/5!!! I recommend you to come during happy hour 5-7pm every day I enjoyed everything we ordered - between two small women we finished hh oysters, two mussels Dijon - richer but very classic white wine taste; Thai - great curry flavor but not too heavy, lots of bread to dip into the sauces, and the donut dessert many flavors to choose from. I left feeling extremely full and satisfied Service was amazing too - the gentlemen at the bar gave generous wine pours, responded to all our questions, and even told us the bakery that the bread came from. Overall a well-rounded experience and I will definitely come back.
Had a great time at Flex Mussels! My friends and I visited on a Friday night, so it was quite crowded. Definitely recommend making reservations ahead of time. As for the food, their portions are huge and everything is fresh & delicious! Started the meal off with an order of Burnt Fingers, which included a bunch of fried calamari, 2 pieces of fried oysters and 2 pieces of fried shrimp. On the menu, they did not specify that there would only be 2 pieces of oysters and 2 pieces of shrimp, so that was kind of misleading, but the dish was still good. The batter was crispy and the aioli sauce that came with it was the perfect pairing. We also got the Gumbo and the Parma. Both very different sauces but both were so delicious and flavorful. Each mussel was opened and none went to waste! We also ordered chicken, which is under the Big Plates section. The meat was tender and it soaked up all of the ingredients used The chicken came with a side of fries; it was good, but nothing special. Overall, Flex Mussels is reasonably priced for the portions they give. Definitely a spot worth trying.
Food is spectacular, highly recommend the Thai mussels and the whipped ricotta appetizer! We also had the scampi mussels that was good and the kale salad that was just fine but not worth the price. Service is kind but the place acoustic is terrible so it gets super loud. Vegetarian options: Salad, burrata, whipped ricotta
We’ve only been to the Happy hour area for a few times. Love the oysters. They are clean and fresh! I kept forgetting the pictures. The HH place is quite tiny so you will need to come just exactly at 5pm to get a table. Good service! It’s a bit more expensive for a HH place. It would cost you easily $100 each if you have a bottle of wine for two and a cocktail each at the beginning of the meal:-
