Another place in NYC I found just by chance! From the outside it looks almost like just a garden for workers of that building only, however upon entering, the security were very friendly, and once our vaccination passports were checked we were free to explore the garden and were even informed there was a free art exhibition too! The gardens are beautiful with many interesting plants to see and fully accessible by an elevator at the side. The small art exhibition was interesting too.
Iconic New York building from 1967 by Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo Associates with magnificent indoor garden. It looks as fresh as if it were built yesterday. Don't miss the gallery and its current show "everything slackens in a wreck" with art by Asian-Americans from the US and the Caribbean, focusing on the plight of Asians taken as indentured workers to the Americas between 1838 and 1917.
Was there many years ago and worked in the area Visited beautiful Atrium very peaceful got pictures considered a rain forest in Manhattan a Beautiful place to Visit
An amazing art gallery and a beautiful garden. We were very pleased with how friendly the staff was and they offered that we check it out. The garden area and gallery were both free to visit.
Very nice, fancy building. Well equipped. Friendly staff
Visited Ford Foundation's garden to take a breath after visiting a few architectural landmarks and had a great conversation about the city with a lady from the security team. Honstly, take a break from the city and relax for a while in this green oasis :
Every time i am in the area with some free time i like to stop by and enjoy the smell and the quiet of this amazing place! With more than 39 species of plants, commissioned by Henri Ford II in the ‘60, this space is free and unique.
One of the biggest indoor garden of Midtown in this building. It's just incredible.
The Ford Foundation is a center for social justice with a very impressive and beutiful green atrium garden. At the second floor you can visit the Ford Foundation Gallery, an art gallery with social themes exhibitions.
Due to our lack of direction, we were unable to take full advantage of this beauty! The green space is nice to chill and get out of the hustle and bustle. We, unfortunately were unable to tour the gallery. The staff were friendly and certainly offered for us to check it out. I am uncertain if there is a charge for the gallery, but the garden area is free!
