I their scallop risotto and their chili. The prime rib sandwich and Philly cheesesteak is way overcooked and the meat is dry. If you like seafood, I would stick with the scallop risotto, it’s the only thing that is consistently good that I’ve tried over the past 5 years since i started dining here. Parking: Easy to find street parking
Nice layout. Staff is friendly. The risotto was over cooked, though flavor was good. Decent bar.
Nice place. You’ll have to find parking on the street. They have Keno and quite a few TVs. They have a touch-less menu if it makes you feel more comfortable. I loved the “Corona” salt and pepper shakers. I got potato skins and a few pints. The skins weren’t my favorite but there’s lots to choose from on the menu. The bar maid was very friendly.
Went for a Sunday lunch, and it was a nice little place. Solid menu with a lot of classic American comfort foods. You won't be very surprised by the selection, but everything was very tasty. Prices were slightly higher than I would expect, but they were still very worth the meal and service. I'd enjoy going back another time and can recommend it if you are in the mood for some familiar favorites.
first off, my sangria was delicious, and so were the french fries. a great place to bring kids, too. service was okay. however, they had no gluten-free options minus one salad and it also appeared that they had very few vegan options. i wish there was some more diversity in their menu!
We got tiramisu, fries and beer so can’t quite judge on other foods. We did ask for extra crispy fries and they delivered and was delishhhhhh. Our server was so sweet and attentive. And trivia night on Tuesday was a blast!
Went here to play Opinionation, and despite the excellent host shoutout to John!, our group was underwhelmed by just about everything else. The drink menu was very limited due to "changing distributors" as was the dessert menu. And while I realize this is out of their control, I was disappointed that many of the options I would have wanted were not available. The service was okay, but the food and drink took a little longer than expected to reach the table. Also, the layout of the restaurant itself was not very condusive to playing Opinionation, since none of us could hear the questions very well from our seat, which we found to be very frustrating. On a more positive note, I do have to say that the dessert Ultimate Chocolate Cake we had was amazing. So, all in all, while our first visit wasn't the greatest, we are willing to give it a second chance. After all, not all of the problems were the restaurant's fault. Hopefully, our group will have a better experience the next time we stop in. Parking: Hard to find a parking space, had to circle the block multiple times to find a space that wasn't either private or reserved
Great staff, great service, great food and great beer - not bad for a "cafe"! We stayed in quincy for 3 nights and ate here twice and had a few beers on one other night. I can't find anything negative to say about Fowler House Cafe - it is a must go place if you are in the Quncy area!
No complaints about the service or food, it was actually above par. The Fowler House lost a star however because I was quite offended by the mural of a young Kim Jong Il, purportedly enjoying carefree days of childhood bliss alongside weak Westerners; bellies swollen from fiat currency diets, shortly before entering the Mangyongdae Revolutionary School. I can assure you that at no time was the supreme leader tarnished by the degenerate Western monopoly money. That would be as ridiculous as claiming that westernized Japan is North, South, East and West of the Korean peninsula; or even China for that matter. They are certainly not and you should not look into any of this foul propaganda. The artist did get his hair right though. The wings were pretty good too, I must admit. Why can"t the world accept that Communism was not real Marxism and simply give us a second chance. Try the Charcuterie Board if you're feeling adventurous, comrade. The vegan options are limited.
Great small business local establishment. Staff is very friendly and personable especially Laney who is so sweet and very attentive and great at her job.
