We left Baltimore at noon and drove 6.5 hours, 4 of them in stop-and-go traffic, on our way to Boston. We were stopping for the night in New Haven and decided to pickup takeout rather than sitting in a restaurant. We ordered online and when we got there, a lady coming out said she’d be going there for 40 years, it was awesome and huge portions! Well, it is awesome and the portion of this Greek salad with grilled chicken includes what must be a whole chicken. Thank you Frankie’s!
Frankie’s Diner is a local, old style diner that we visited for dinner while in Bridgeport, CT. The Gyro with chicken was very good. —Generous portion and good price too. The Cheeseburger with Fries was average, and nothing special. …But the Chocolate Milkshake with Whipped Cream that was made by our Server, Lori, was absolutely delicious! So delicious that we ordered a second one and shared it! Admittedly, Frankie’s is not fancy, but if you’re looking for a nice meal that’s reasonably priced, I believe you won’t be disappointed… especially if you get Lori’s Chocolate Milkshake. PS. At checkout we enjoyed a very pleasant chat with Raymond, the Manager.
Wonderful waitress! The food, well it wasn’t up to par. Nice to know of a 24 hour diner though.
It was super late and we were driving through to our hotel and this place was open 24 which I though was awesome. We were all hungry and decided to stop by we thought we could dine in but it was take out only no problem whatsoever. The portions were huge prices were great. I was happy and my family was happy.
I never been to a diner where you ask for a bagel with cream cheese and bacon and you have to make it yourself. I asked if they can put the bacon on the sandwich thinking they would already have cream cheese on it and the lady looked at me like I asked her for a million dollars. This place is the worst
We were in Bridgeport all the way from PA for the day to see a concert and stopped at Frankie’s for some food. Our server Lori had to be the kindest women we had ever met and she even told us some stories. Everyone needs a server like Lori. Not to mention the food was amazing, my friend and I REALLY enjoyed the Greek fries. It was a great experience and this place will be on my mind if I am ever in Bridgeport again!
Today is my birthday and I was not given my full order. I politely called to let them know that I was missing mozzarella sticks. The lady that gave me my order accused me of touching my food and that she gave me my full order when she did not. I didn’t touch one thing. I understand that you get people that are not honest and ghetto but that is not me. The fact that I had to get accused and treated the way I did was absolutely ridiculous. Also when I called to let her know that my order was not complete she hung up on my face. That’s not business appropriate.
I don't.know what's going on over there but I just ordered scrambled eggs and home fries and went to pick it up and immediately noticed the bag smelled like fish. When I got home and started eating my food it had a fishy taste to it. I'm so upset. How on earth does home fries and scrambled eggs taste like fish? That's nasty. It means their kitchen isn't clean or they cooked it with something they made fish in or both. I will never in life order from here again.
Good food, great wait time. Eggs were fluffy and loved the omelette but beware of the pancakes. Didn’t think you could mess up pancakes but they were ok.
I got a pastrami sandwich which was pretty good but not great. The pastrami was on one half the bread and not the other which required some rearranging. My wife got a buffalo chicken sandwich and wondered why it was on a Portuguese roll. The chicken breast was small and fit better on the bread that way. But the food was pretty good and we left not hungry. I just feel like we there was more fries than sandwich. Some people might like this though. There is off street parking and an ATM. Plus the Cole slaw was quite mayo heavy but crisp and flavorful.
