I am a Senior citizen don't tell anybody. I love to read but as the years go by and the eyesight goes it has been harder to read. Guess what not any more. They have large print books. Check them out. I love ir.
nice library, clean and lots of lighting. unfortunately the hours are late where it’s a bit too busy for quiet reading but the monthly newsletter is always nice to read
The staff is very friendly and helpful... wonderful atmosphere...Miss Abbe went over and beyond the call of duty as she helped me piece together a new resume.... spent lots of time with helpful websites, keywords and job applications..... a beautiful and caring person.... thank you
Whitman library is great, a serious library, yes, but they have lots of things for the kids to do there and lots of good information for the general public too, I just wish that I wasn't banned for life from having a library card for trusting my grandsons....... aunt...... [I'll leave out the adjectives for her irresponsible, immature self... oh, sorry,] when she said 'I'll take his things back' - and then they vanished into the ether- I have other, younger grandchildren now. Oh well- the library is nice!
Nice peoples, Down helped me to write my resume .I love this place.
I'm South Philly born and raised and I love this library . The librarian and other employees are helpful. The library allowed my teenage son to work there during his high school years and I'm forever grateful especially since my son has always loved to read .
I usually love this place, the staff are excellent, friendly and very helpful. My complaint is that the website is NEVER up to date regarding hours or closures or right now--drop off. Why not put on the website that you can ONLY return books through the drop off during certain hours 2 days a week. Why does someone have to go to the library to find this out, especially during a pandemic!? Not everyone lives in the immediate area of the library and can randomly walk around to see a typed sign on the fence or the door is the DROP BOX!!
Was there to give a talk on Alzheimer's. The attendees were courteous and seemed interested.
Awesome and friendly staff that usually has what I'm looking for. Goes above and beyond to make sure that you find what you're searching for. Shout out to for Sam helping me practice my job interviewing skills.
This is a great branch of FLP very helpful staff that will give extra time on computers if no one is waiting. Hate the building itself looks like a prison, designed by same architect who designed Wm. Penn HS, with windows so high barely lets in light. But other than that it's a great branch.
