3 mi from Portland. Authentic Breton-style sweet and savory crêpes & other French favorites. Take-out or eat-in
Boutique takeout restaurant, Flip Crêperie, features sweet crêpes, savory galettes and other French favorites made with local Maine ingredients and French Breton traditions.
Flip C is located just 3 miles from Portland, Maine in walkable Willard Square, a vibrant beach village community of year-round residents, college students and seasonal vacationers. Housed in a quaint, historic building, passers-by find it hard not to stop at the big bay windows to watch fresh crêpes being flipped, filled and handily folded to take away or eat-in at the convivial crêpe bar.
Flip Crêpiers, Shawn Rains and Jessica Bell, are also active Willard Square residents. After many fulfilling years in the corporate world, when 429 Preble Street, #2 became available, the couple seized the opportunity to create Flip Crêperie together—a small, creative business based in their French and food passions that they and their neighbors can enjoy.
Crêpes are only as good as what you put into them (cliché, but true). This applies to the ingredients and to the crêpe-making technique. To this end:
• Flip Crêpiers, Shawn and Jessica were trained and certified in Saint-Malo, France by Mme. Marie-Laure Maigne of Atelier de la Crêpe, culinary education partner and exclusive trainer for international Breizh Café.
• Flip crêpes are made with high-quality, locally-sourced and authentic European ingredients.
