I was so excited to go to Fry's electronics, it's always been such a fun place to go.. well I'm assuming because of covid -19 it's not even worth it anymore or atleast for now. All the shelf's were empty and everything was over priced.
Fry's Electronics used to be the place to go to find anything. It is a huge behemoth. I always felt overwhelmed and energetically drained going into this store. It in serious need of update, the lighting is horrible, the decor yuk. However if you need to find something especially electronic components this is the place to go. Yesterday I went looking for something and saw many rows of empty shelves and empty slots where items not being restocked. The place felt dead and abandon and more staff then customers. There was no greeters nor security checkers going out. The whole feel makes me think they are dying and going out of business. I only going back if I desperately need something fast now, but will I find it? Going to Fry's reminds me why I prefer shopping online with more choice in the comfort of home and not fighting traffic. Online I can find stuff faster and don't have to waste times trying to walking around a huge store to find something. Sorry Fry's you used to be great but unless you have a radical face uplift I feel your days numbered. Anyone else feel this way. Big Box store blues. Update 1.23.21 Still in bussiness but even less inventory and more empty asiles. Display of Laptop-PC, TV-Hifi, Appliance, & Camera areas no longer present. Seen are a stack of many unopenned boxes on floor of flat screen LED flat screen, brand I never heard of "Silo" near entrance and a scattered few unopened applaince boxes. Still a few aisle left of electronic parts, PC parts, school supplies, cellphone and computer accessories, and a bunch of other misc. I needed an LED and found it but component inventory way down. It felt like 60% of inventory is gone. Defintely a slow dying behemoth and depressing to visit.
They always have a huge variety of everything. The floor has plenty of staff in their specified areas, so if you need help you dont have to spend a long time just finding someone to help. The floor is designed in an easy to find, easy to see golfing green layout. This last time I was surprised at hpw many home appliances there were, at reasonable prices. They definitely could use an updated website but other than that enjoy this place.
In short do not go there for help from 7 till close. No one works in the section your in. They offer you little help and there is absolutely no stock. I was there last night for an hour and a half got redirected to five different areas. Went down more than enough aisles and found absolutely nothing. By the time I wanted to buy something they didn't have it. I asked one of the members that work there to find someone for the section to help me. He was a cashier walked up front to his register and sat there, left me standing in aisle waiting for help. Absolutely horrible and a disgrace to be part of Fry's.
I know times have changed and am accepting of it. I was blown away going to Fry's Electronics after 19 years to see this ghost town. I couldnt believe how many empty shelves this store has. They should consider shrinking the store to condense what they do have. This makes it look like the store is going out of business. Which given the current landscape is probably best.
I don't want to give it one star because it has been a reliable and awesome place, but its obvious something it's going on. Shelves are getting empty and there is no sign of them getting stocked any time soon.
Hello, Fry's electronics on Baseline & I-10 is closing their store. Another casualty of Amazon Incorporated. I've been shopping in store for many years. Staff in the store have been told to tell customers they don't know what is going on. I'm one of many who would continue to shop Fry's Electronics. They're closing their doors forever none the less.
Fry's is a fantastic electronics store that has items you haven't seen in years but may very well need. I was very appreciative to see diagnostic equipment used for older systems. The pricing is very reasonable and the selection is broad. The checkout system is very efficient and keeps the line moving quickly.
I heard good things about this place. What a complete disappointment. Empty shelves, nobody in the store, and after 30 minutes browsing around, not a single interaction with any employee. I will stick with Microcenter.
I was shopping for a new Fitbit and Fry's Electronics had the best deal. I was able to get back in the game with a replacement Fitbit Charge for only $75. Clean store with lots of selections. Friendly and helpful staff told us where to locate the trackers. Clean bathrooms and we're being cleaned while there. The store even has a Cafe if you need something to satisfy your hunger.
