If you want to be seen by the rudest, most dismissive orthopedic please go see Dr. Patel. I went there for knee pain that I've had for years. He literally walked in the door, hadn't done X-rays or even checked my knee. Basically told me without any exam that I was too young for a knee replacement. I was pretty surprised by that because a knee replacement hadn't even crossed my mind. I knew I had arthritis in my knees, I was hoping maybe a cortisone injection so I could start hiking again. He then told me no and there was nothing he could do. Again, zero exam, he literally sat in the chair across from me. I was totally dumbfounded, he told me he could do X-rays which I agreed to. I don't know how those turned out because he never bothered to let me know anything after they were done and sent me on my way. I have never been treated that poorly and I'm so upset that my insurance paid him a penny for nothing. Thankfully that lead me to a orthopedic that actually cares about his patients. I got cortisone injections and am now pretty much pain free. Thanks for nothing Dr. Patel. I hope you never have anyone treat you like you treated me.
I see lots of poor reviews. Whatever issues they had must have really changed things for the better. Ive been 3 times in the last month and with injuries to my shoulder and wrist i've seen quite a bit of the Staff. The wait time was less than 15 mins each time. They were very friendly and thoughrough. Even the X-ray tech was gentle and informative everytime. Julie did a great quality cast job . She even set me up with a cool Kawasaki Team Green color casting. Even the front desk girls were friendly on arrival and checkout.
Have been a patient here nearly three years. Great patient care and followup. Appointments can be made in a very timely manner and get you in fairly quickly. Today I arrived 1 hr early by accident and got seen within 20 minutes of arriving. Received my treatment and out the door in 45 minutes!!!
My second visit here. The first visit i had to wait 1 hr and 20 mins only to be seen by a NP or PA who only asked me what i think is the management to my problem. Disappointed but First visit Fine, give the benefits of the doubt about this place. Second Visit. This time to see Dr Patel, only appt available is 1145 took a day off fr work. Saw Dr Patel, spent less than 2 mins, stood up and started walking towards the door while talking to me about the plan of care. So disappointing and how uncompassionate!! I have worked in the medical field for over 30 yrs and been a patient too, many times in the US and Europe. This place is beyond compare. Staff here are unwelcoming and unfriendly. This place sucks.
Appointment with the doctor was fine, my issues are with the shadiness of insurance coverage and verification. I was told that my CAM Walker was being verified as covered by my insurance before given to me. So, when 15 min later, a boot was brought in to the room and put on, I had no reason to believe that my insurance didn’t cover it. When checking out and paying for my visit, I was surprised to hear the amount due and then was told that they don’t bill through my insurance. My mistake was not taking it off right then and there and saying I don’t want it, but felt somewhat obligated to pay for something I was already wearing. I called their billing department to find out if anything could be done 30 min after leaving and they gave me the run around and excuses. Just seemed like a shady experience. Also, when talking with billing I was out on hold so they could talk to their Lead/Supervisor. They came back and told me they were told the exact same thing. When I asked to actually speak with the lead, she told me that she wasn’t in the office. I asked how did she speak with her, and she told me that she “messaged her the information.” Again shady... I am not going back here, but even for my follow up visit. I will be submitting formal complaints to my insurance company and any board necessary that helps track issues with medical providers.
I am very disappointed with the staff and the PA I was scheduled to see. They talked about me in a disparaging way in the hallway and I could hear them through the door. I felt that Ms. De La Paz, PA-C and the nurse treated me like I was stupid, and an imposition to them. I felt very upset when I left. I am not a demanding person, nor do I generally leave negative reviews but I felt it was necessary for me to communicate my treatment.
Garey Orthopedic Medical Group Has no respect for patients They put you in a waiting room you wait, wait ,wait. Last time i was there i had a 2:45 app. At 3:30 i was still waiting finally i left. Garet Orthopedic who do you think you are, you have no respect for people that pay your salary, you are a classless no finesse, poor excuse for a human been. You will never see me in your classless office.
Each time I call I am sent to a voicemail in which no one bothers to call back. Not sure how they're still in business
Please do not take your children here!! Verbal and physical abuse towards patients! Technician Ray they wouldn't give tell me his last name nearly readjusted my 5 year old son's arm the wrong way! If I didn't point out the additional XRAY photos, the PA Nayeli De La Paz or XRAY Tech. would have misdiagnosed my son. Even after I pointed out the additional photos that showed his Traverse Fracture, the XRAY tech was confused on how to fix it. While holding my son's arm the PA and XRAY Tech. argued which direction they needed reset his bones. My son went into shock due to the pain of manipulating his broken bones. At that point, I was not confident they reset his bones correctly. My son was frantically crying in pain, and the XRAY Tech, Ray asked if he normally acted this way and continued to tell me this was not normal. While trying to console my kid, I asked Ray what was not normal exactly and he said that my son must frequently throw tantrums. He suggested kids are intolerant to pain and shouldn't cry after a fracture. Ray does not have the skill set to communicate professionally with patients or parents. He was also aggressive while taking the XRAY photos, attempting to forcefully move son to take the pictures. I had to step in, because he not only crossed a line verbally but physically. In addition, the lady in the front desk would not provide me with any direction to file a complaint.
Called 3 times to schedule an appt. and the system hung up on me twice after waiting too long. The other time I left a voicemail and still no call back. Office staff apparently have no sense of urgency for patients. Still haven't scheduled an appt. but I haven't seen the doc yet, so I hope he has more respect for his patients time and the care they need.
