Gartner's Country Meat Market

I have no clue why this place is rated so highly. I went there today to buy steaks for my birthday. It was easy to find and not crowded. The lady behind the counter was also nice and helpful. But here are my issues. I asked if they had dry aged steaks and she said she didn't know. She asked someone that was also behind the counter and was cutting meat. That man shook his head "no" without really even looking up at her. She came back and said no. I looked at the steaks in the display case and they all looked like something from Walmart or Fred Meyers. No marbling and cut really thin, like maybe a half inch. I asked the lady if they had any prime steaks and she said they only carry choice but sometimes get prime NY strips in. I said ok what about bone in rib-eye or tomahawk ribeyes? She said they keep frozen tomahawk ribeyes wrapped in plastic in the freezer. I asked if those were prime? Nope! So I said thanks I'll look around. I checked out the display cases again and left. Super disappointed. I went to Costco and got prime NY strips that are cut thick and have great marbling for the same price this place charged for choice, $19.99 a pound. Don't waste your time.

Superb, old-fashioned meat market and custom butcher shop/smoke house. Place is always packed. Bring a book, take a number, and wait--you'll be delighted with your patience. More fabulous smoked wursts than you can count. Expert craftsmen and women here to do your specialty cuts to perfection. Very friendly and welcoming staff. They smoke your fresh-caught fishies, too! Go Now!

Quite easily the best meat market I've ever been to. 5 stars isn't enough. Excellent customer service and even better food. The only way you could go wrong is if you didn't stop by today!

Love this place! Been going since I was a child and would never go anywhere else! I will say however the last three times we've gone, we've purchased pepperoni sticks from the same attendant and haven't received any... all three times. Zero in our bag after being charged for them. Very disappointing when we get home. Guess you should make sure to check your bag!

Gardner's is an iconic Northwest meat market and butcher. Hunters can bring game in to have it processed, and shoppers  an come in and shop for a wide variety of specialty cuts. For me, Gardners shines when it comes to their sausage selection, pork chops, marinated pork and chicken, and their lunch meats. I do not buy their beef cuts here for a couple of reasons. First being they can't tell me if it's choice or prime or who their source or farm is. Second, there isn't enough marbling on their cuts, too lean for me, especially the NY cuts. And some of the marbling on their rib cuts is inconsistent.  Costco Prime ribeye or New York steaks are much better in that regard. And now that other stores carry Snake River Farms Wagyu, the choices for great beef are better elsewhere. So, beef is out, but love the staff and selections of other meats as stated previously, especially the smoked pork chops. Woe, are they tender and flavourful. Lastly, the have a beautiful selection of tasty sauces and rubs. Good stuff!

Have always gotten, outstanding, customer svc even when the shop was full. If you're looking for an "old fashioned" butcher, this is your place! Products are outstanding, these folks will take care of you!!

Gartners is the absolute best. Been coming for near 15 years. Today i got a smoked turkey for the holiday. What a treat. Of course , u gotta preorder in advance.. But this place is A++ also check out there home made pepperoni and jerkey. Yum highly highly recommend. Locally sourced and locally owned. Cannot do better than that for all your meat needs.

Awesome place to get your meat. Great employees. So I would assume the owners are great as well.

Huge selection of quality meats, great service and reasonable prices. I would highly recommend them to others. Corned beef and pastrami are incredibly delicious. Also have a large selection of spices and rubs.
