George's Shoe Repair

George’s shoe repair charged me $180 to replace the zippers on a pair of leather boots. I thought that was pricy even for DC, and upfront payment was required. The stitching job also turned out messy I uploaded photos, and they acknowledged that it didn’t look nice. When I asked for some kind of discount they refused and said their machinery couldn't do the job any neater, which was disappointing - it really affects how the boots look. I do give them credit for replacing the zippers and adjusting the boot width well. They also cleaned my boots which was nice. However, I was really disappointed in the aesthetic of the stitching, especially for the price.

I’ve been going to George Shoe Repair for years and am always very pleased with the quality of service & quick turnarounds. Just got two pairs of boots repaired including getting my beloved 10 year old Frye boots resoled. They were in terrible condition and George’s shoe repair brought them back to life! I wish I had taken a before photo of them with holes in the sole and the heel worn away. Here’s an after picture so you can see their good work. Thank you George’s Shoe Repair! George brought an old pair of my favorite heels back to life. He was even able to add in some extra cushioning. Also, just the nicest guy. Highly recommend!

Amazing and quality service, that is done in adequate time. I’ve had my backpack restitched and my Jordan basketball shoes reglued and both were done very well.

Dog chewed up tongue of the one boot. This place said they could fix it. I left both shoes / the pair for comparison. Returned one week later with very tough leather and not at all like the other boot tongue or any hiking boot tongue I have seen. Not wearable/usable in current state. Should have sent back to manufacturer, Scarpa - was my favorite pair of hiking boots. Disappointed.

Took my Angela Scott suede shoes in to George’s Shoe Repair on U street after trying to get out a black line with a Tide pen…using the Tide pen made the black line immediately turn into a big black spot!!!…he did his magic less than 20 seconds and walla the shoes looked brand new!…he didn’t even charge me!!!

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves! My 15 year old pair of boots were literally falling apart. I was so nervous to get them resoled. I was worried I wouldn't like something about the new look. I was so wrong. They look like they did the day I bought them. George's did such an amazing job, I couldn't be happier! I'll definitely go to George's for any shoe repair in the future. Friendly service, too!

George's is amazing! My boots were so worn- the heels were completely down and the leather was very gross. The new heel caps they put on are even better than the originals, and the leather looks just like new! I'll never go anywhere else for shoe repair. Thank you!

George is the best shoe cobbler I’ve taken my shoes to, always friendly and always does a great job from a simple polish to sole replacement.
